Is that one of those $30.00 Ebay folders?
It's had a few modifications from it's original form to make it a lighter, faster, and more packable bike... there is also a trailer / suitcase in the works as I would like to take it with me on a little winter getaway I am planning. I don't know what Twenty's are selling for on e-bay but I believe they often command a little more than $30.00 if they are in nice shape. |
I get to take this inside at work and keep it in our changing area. I also ride my CAAD8 to work a LOT, but between the two, the Bad Boy is definitely better at being the commuter bike within my neighborhood. Upright, sturdy, with short gearing that's still tall enough to keep up with the slug-like pace of traffic. ;)

I dont think I have posted a pic of my newest commuter yet. Its an older Panasonic. I cant believe how much faster those skinny 700x25 tires feel compared to 26x1.5 slicks on my MTB!! I actually rode my old MTB to school today since I has the milk crate on it and I can just throw my back pack in it and go, man it felt like a bus. But it sure was fun not to have to worry about "braking the rims" again :D

Here are my commuter bikes. The black Schwinn is my everyday bike.
The Nishiki is the bike i just picked up from the swap meet for $30.:D The bigger chain ring had a couple of broken teeth. I removed the ring and derailer. Now she's a six speed. I'm thinking of making this my winter bike. |
Since I pretty much commute on all my road bikes here are the other two I use for when its not raining at all.
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/DSC02909.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/DSC00286.jpg The Schwinn gets more attention though since I am a bit more upright on it and I can treat it rougher. |
Powergrips, i am so tempted to try some out, but i still don't have a worthy bike, the fixed gear conversion runs spd's. And the winter/rain bike runs some dirt platforms with large studs (spikes). I think its time to take pics of the rides (in their updated form).

I am thinking of getting some winter tires for the red bike, but im not sure its worth the hassle atm.

After a series of mishaps, my road bike is all good to go. A week after I bought this bike, a careless driver backed his truck over it, bending my frame, tacoing my back wheel, snapping the rear axle in half and bending the derailleur. It took me 3 weeks to get it to where it is now, and I am slowly upgrading parts as I come across them. This bike gets ridden in if its not raining, and in the Santa Cruz mountains whenever I have the time:).

What do you guys think? |

My 6 year old Surly CC. It's lost a lot of its shine over the years, but it still rolls along quick and comfortable. :D

I have too many bikes so can't remember if I posted this already... this bike has the unique ability to keep it from raining as since I built it (for riding in the rain) it's been really dry.

My new commuter. I've been riding a Cannondale R700 road bike to work for several months. I do 32 miles round trip with some pretty big climbs. This bike should work for me in all seasons and all weather.

Nice, Siggurd.
Love seeing new tires on an old bike. |
I havent seen colored fenders yet, I definately like them!!
|
Fenders: it was either black or yellow (or Pink, god forbid)... yellow seemed like Hi-Vis
The accidental Packer motif (or ORegon Duck motif) was... accidental Perhaps I'll do a custom Lombardi logo I may go to a forward stem with drop bars... I'm just used to drops |
this is my first post. been lurking for a while. anyhow, here's my commuter. the hills in eastern washington are pretty killer, so i'm standing quite a bit.
