The Cross Check is the ultimate blank slate of commuter bikes. It's so easy to make it exactly what you want it to be, that's a nice build.
It's so versatile in fact that I re-purpose mine twice a year. I have a very different for set up for winter than I do for summer. I love it both ways. Welcome to the club, I love my cross check dearly, I bet you will love yours too.
Enjoy! Go ride the wheels off that thing now!

I had a couple stems in the tool box to experiment with (wanted to get rid of the adjustable jobber). So I slapped on a 100mm and rode.......45 minutes later I decided I had the correct length stem, but the wrong bar angle/position....easy fix. Also, this made me feel the error of my ways on the saddle position and forced me to drop the nose 2 clicks.
Here's how it looks now, but I still haven't adjusted the bars.

I only have two short rides under my belt on this bike (in crazy cold temps). However, I can tell immediately that this bike has far better manners than the Cannondale I was riding. Can't tell you how glad I am I made this purchase!

Can't be sure with those photos and the way you're sitting, but it looks like your seat on the two other bikes might be too far back. Hang a plumb line from the bottom of your knee with your crank arm level and forward (i.e. at 3 o'clock for the right crank) and it should go right through the pedal axle.
That would only be likely if you had the seat way back on the rails, and/or were a true mutant.
The fore/aft position on the new cross-check seems reasonable, and it looks like you have the right number of chromosomes. So maybe it's just an optical illusion.
Make sure you don't attach any more pictures. At least not THOSE pictures.

CHA-CHA Changes.....
If anyone cares, I made a rather substantial change to my Cross-Check since I last posted on this thread.
I was not getting along with the drop bars. Period. They just weren't as cozy as I'd imagined. So, I went back the the One One Mary bars I ran on my Bad Boy. This change took a little time and cost me a few bucks, but after it was all said and done the bike now feels just the way I had dreamed it would.
There are no fitment issues or questions now....the bars made all the difference in the world. I would also like to state how I prefer the new location of the shifters and brake levers.
Ask away if you have any questions about the build etc.
