I rotate from work to BF and back again. Constantly thinking about issues I am trying to solve does not help me. What does help is momentarily distracting me and then the solution presents itself. Sort of like coming up with the solution to a problem in the bathroom or on a bike.
BF is my toilet.

Who, me? I would never dream of visiting the forums during working hours...
Not visiting the forums really does help make my day go by. Between this and all the other WEB sights I don't surf, it's a wonder I don't accomplish even more.
I hate to see what would happen if I ever got busy again. Probably won't have too much to fear there, it doesn't look like we'll be picking up anytime soon. Sometimes this downturn business is not such a bad thing.

most days for me, i wonder if out web filter is recording this......
of course it is good to be help desk and the company is closing (although the closing part isn't good).
I bounce back and forth between news, sports, BF and job search.

I have lots of moments of down time through the day that are too short for writing or reading and too long to just sit and look at the wall. BF and Facebook give me something to keep my brain going.

Speaking of wasting time....er, being more productive at work, anybody else having trouble with the BF today? It keeps kicking me out and then seems to go down for a while. I'm sure the problem can't be on this end..
All my other time wasters...er, production enahncers seem to be working fine.

My rationalization is that my productivity is aided by mental health distractions of BF. But when I'm really jammed BF is the first page to go.
It is helpful as a distraction on days like yesterday where we had a layoff.

That's how long it takes some injuries to heal - unless you aggravate them while they're healing.

...a talk show host, Dennis Prager, who occasionally comments on lifestyle issues suggested that one should take a vacation every day. That is, not take the day off, but during the day do something that is as different and reviving from your normal routine as a vacation is. I am at a computer much of the day so it is easy and enjoyable for me to peruse BF and send a post if interested. I once likened it to going on a cruise:
