Avoiding "helmet head hair"?

ditto... fyi, on the Panasonic trimmer I have, 1=/=#1, instead 1 = 1mm = shorter than most trimmers can get sans guard.

The Specialized SWorks helmet has a plastic piece that goes completely around the inside of the helmet that might keep the helmet resting on the plastic ring more than on the top of your head. It also has more and bigger vents for less sweat.
However, it's really expensive and I haven't tried it. I keep checking my local bike shop to see if it's gone on sale yet. :-)

Seriously, I solved the problem with a ponytail and a clip to hold my bangs down. (Though I still refuse to wear a helmet... Please Helmet Nazis, get off my back! Thanks.)

I also vote for using a comb or a brush. I don't have as much hair as I used to, but I freshen up in the men's room and brush my hair...
I guess a crew cut or shaving my dome would work, but that's not my style... and we all know, it's all about style, right?

I tore up an old Hawaiian shirt and made a bandanna. Tied it in the back and I had a bit of a pony tail out behind my helmet. Got to work this morning and it was soaked. I think I would look better in a dark one - you know - close to hair color.

So, anyone out there have a magic solution for avoiding those stripes you get in your hair from wearing your helmet? I know it sounds vain, but it's a pain after getting into work and then having to soak my hair to get them out. I'm fine in the winter when I wear a touque under my helmet, but it's too warm for that now. Is there a helmet out there that has nicer padding which prevents this? (btw - not wearing a helmet is not an option!)
Thanks!
Thanks!
