how wet was it?

It was so wet and rainy that I left my shoes and insoles on top of the gas water heater next to the furnace when I got home last night and they still haven't dried out this morning. Well, the insoles have.

It was so wet, I found a tadpole in my downtube.

My wife met me at the garage door with a towel and wouldn't let me bring my wet clothes in the house.

This time of year it is hard to keep dry some days no mater what you do.

no no no no no.

1) Obtain newspaper
2) Remove insoles
3) Crumple newspaper, 1 sheet at a time
4) Stuff newspaper into shoes
5) Change newspaper after 1 hour, leave overnight. Shoes should be dry.

Plus, you can take the wet newspaper and uncrumple it so you can use it again. I do this at my office, changing the newspaper at lunchtime, and my shoes are dry for the ride home.

Wrongway salmon passed me in the bike lane while they were running a red light.

Not only were my shoes not dry yet this morning, my shoe covers were still wet.

Does that newspaper trick work with online editions, or do I need the print version?

The online versions work, but I find it difficult to uncrumple the monitor and re-use it after it dries out.

I was going to write a browser plug-in to crumple it. It's getting it into the shoes that I haven't figured out yet.

That's hardware engineering's problem.

It was so wet I will be riding home in wet shoes. At least I brought fresh socks, huh?

I am trying the newspaper-in-shoe trick today. I wonder if I need to put a weight on top to make sure the tongue gets dried out too.

I did the newspaper-in-shoe trick last night. Shoes were bone dry within two hours.

I checked on the paper periodically and changed it when it had become saturated.
