38 degrees this am. Ride home last night in 10-20mph headwinds sucked the life out of my legs for sure, made today a "recovery" ride level. Fortunately Fridays are usually quieter on DC streets, especially with Monday's holiday, so it was a pretty sedate ride in.

Not bad. Surface was a bit damp, and the sky was overcast. Low 30sF. A tailwind made my ride a bit easier.

My legs were tired this morning and it was blustery, but I enjoyed myself.
I listened to some Django which made for a mellow commute.

Today was very nice. In the 50's this morning. Bought a bunch of new cold weather gear but I guess I'll have to wait to use it.

Nice day, but I felt rather sluggish this morning.

Last nights return was disappointing. I had one light burn out, one light break and luckily had a 3rd. Also had a headwind the entire way home. Good news is that it was very nice temp. wise and a bright moon to help me see/be seen.

caged. My wife isn't coming home too early tonight and I couldn't face the weather plus biking both kids home (only one of them I have to drag up the last hill but I couldn't get the image of the d-r-a-g out of my head...)

Took the long way home. Had Supertramp in my head for a while.

It was a nice ride through fields, woods, bike paths, and residential streets. Needed to engage the blinkies and the headlamp because it was getting dark. Got home right around civil twilight.
I think a ninja was trying to catch me on one street. I dropped him hard and then he disappeared like a ninja ought to.

I had a good ride to and from work yesterday. The temperature in the morning was just right. I'm rolling in a bit later because of the time change so my morning routine in has changed. With the cool weather I don't arrive at work drenched in sweat; so I can shower/shave at home while it's still dark outside and ride with the sun coming up.
I have to get going on the afternoon ride either right at 5 or a little early to get home before sundown. For now it's working out, but soon I expect I'll be using the headlight.
That's the way it is here in North Florida. This is a beautiful time of year!

Today's ride was awesome. While it was a training ride, I did use my Touring-Commuting bike. Great Sun and little traffic. Trying to build my miles after a long layoff I needed the ride as prep for tomorrow's effort. Today 14 miles, tomorrow 25 from home to Salem Lake in WS,NC, around the lake and home again. Should be fun.

Went in to work a little early, as I was watching the storm come in on the radar. Got there in time to miss riding in the rain. Yay!
Left about an hour and a half later than I wanted, as I decided to wait for a clear pocket. Got some sparse, light rain on the way home. My jeans stayed dry and I'm still wearing them, so another lovely autumn ride!

I had to go to work yesterday (Saturday) for a few hours. I rode in at 11am and left at 4pm. The weather was amazing for November, low 70’s and sunny both ways. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a weekend commute, I forgot how much lighter the motor traffic is compared to the weekday 8 and 5. I have little problem dealing with traffic, but this was really pleasant!

Fell today. Hurt my left arm. Don't think it is broken because I can still move it, just sore. I have been using older pedals because of the rough weather lately and the left one seized up and would not release my cleat. Sigh. Good ole standing still and topple over routine.. Done it before when I was a newbie, remember now the good ole humility that goes with it. Probably a dumb question but anyone else ever done it? Thankfully the bike had no damage. On the bright side, time for new bad weather pedals!

Guess it's the holiday, but didn't see a freaking soul on the ride in today. No other cyclists, joggers, walkers, nothing but rabbits and deer. That's a really odd occurance. Supposed to be a glorious 75 degrees for the ride home, so really looking forward to it. Two of my team have already found excuses to call off today, we'll see how many more before it's time to show up

Beautiful
On days this week and what a great moon lit ride in. The stars were out all over. 4 AM is the best time to be on the road. Little traffic and on a cloudless morning, you get to look at the Heavens on the way in.

Warm-ish. Upper 40s. Sunny. I stopped to take in the scenery, and a roadie went by in my direction. I gave him a couple of minutes, then went after him.
I was reeling him in slowly, but didn't quite catch him before he turned off my route. He looked like he was sprinting a bit, too.

Warm (70F) and very moist. I ran a little late, then got to my river crossing to find it still under water. Backtracked to Route B, got detoured by construction on the MUP, hit almost every redlight (with witnesses) thru town, and rolled up on the station while the train was loading.
If there hadn't been a passenger with a wheel chair loading, I'd have missed my train for only the 2d time in nearly 4 years. As it was, I neglected to buy a ticket, but they didn't check. To be fair, I'll probably buy the roundtrip ticket when I go home.

67f This morning. It was nice. I'm always racing in as fast as I can and don't get to enjoy the ride to work as much as I should.

Im back on the road guys!!!
yesterday i finished installing a dynohub wheel and lights!!! they are freaking awesome!!!
Today was the mayden voyage of my new setup...opened the window and the sky was totally grey! got tempted to use the car...but i was too excited to ride, so i got my rain poncho and headed out..
thought the rain would stop middle way..soon i realized i was riding straight to the center of the cloud!
many flooded streets, and 1 car splashed all over me, socks and shoes soaked! lol
it was fun! ill prepare myself a bit better next time.

Cool. As in 41F when I left the house, but I was perfectly comfortable: shout out to Smartwool! I had hardly been on my bike all last week and I was feeling it this morning.

Schizo weather in NC lately - cold in the mornings, hot in afternoons. Well, maybe cool and warm would be more accurate. Makes it hard to dress though, and I end up filling up my seat bag with clothes in the afternoons.
