Fenders, Did I go wrong somewhere?

I just got a set of Axiom Fenders installed and the steel support rods look like they are under a lot of tension. Bowed and not straight.
Should they look like that?

Is there an easy way to adjust the steel supports so they look straight?
I am getting a rear rack at the end of the week and it just looks like the supports would interfear with the rack supports.

They look pretty normal. But if you want you can just push in a little on the supports near the dropout attachment and it'll straighten them.

There are nuts attaching the struts to the fenders in plain sight. Loosen, make straight and centered, tighten, done.
If they are not rubbing and are secure like that, perhaps the installers did that intentionally. I would leave it if this is the case.

That's how my Dahon SKS fenders look - bowed, struts are under tension to keep the fender solidly in place.

I installed my own, did not bow the rods and have not ever had any problems with them over the years.

Mine aren't straight, either.

Incidentally, it looks like one the black rubber tips came off/wasn't put on. Find it and put it on there. My front ones came off and I have like five gouges on my shins from when I was parking my bike in several places over the weekend.

I had to do this to make the rear fender stays clear the rack, just push slightly until they're straight.

I guess I'll just see when my rack is ready for pick-up at my LBS.

ThanX everyone, for the replies.
I just have to tweak the fron fender as it is a bit off centre and bugging the cr@p out of me.

Trim the metal rods with a dremel.

You can bend the stays any way you like, but it is hard to get them perfectly straight once bent.

You can put a couple layers of heat shrink tubing on the ends of the stays to protect your shins.

I have the same fenders and they look just like that though a little dirtier.

Gah, really? I installed some fenders a few months back, and I just put them straight and under no tension. It never occurred to me to tension the stays.

They do rattle around a bit. I'll have to try tensioning them and see how well it works.

My solution for the rough stay ends was going to be drops of hot glue.
