Whats your start time in the moring?
I have searched for a thread like this, but no luck. Just curious about when do people on here start their commutes in the morning. I for instance have to leave at 5:30 am to make it with a 30min cushion to spare. Sorry if this has alredy been a thread, but I tried to search.

On the bike at 6am, or I'll be late. It's about 50min, leaving 10 to packup, cool off, change clothes, etc.
If I'm running really late, I'll drive in. If I'm a little late... I'll be a little late. Bosses don't mind, and it's incentive to ride harder.
13mi each way.

Very close to my schedule in the morning but not as long at night. Just curious how far your commute is? Mine is 32 km or 19 miles each way. I take it easy going to work so I don't walk in dripping. Going home I book it like a mad man.

10-mile trip. Leave the house at 6:20 am, to catch my train at 7:01, with enough pad time to fix a flat if necessary

You 5 am people are crazy. I wake up shortly before 7, and am on the bike by 7:40. Bus times are virtually identical if I don't feel like riding, and walking requires leaving about 10 minutes earlier.

My start times vary from 9:30am Saturday mornings to 2pm on Thursday afternoons. Depending on the location that day, the most direct route ranges from 1.7 to 3.8 miles. Seldom do I use the direct route.
I like to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to change and cool-down, and for that "flat-tire cushion". Hmmm... Perhaps I should rename it the "broken chain cushion" since I've yet to flat on the way to work, but twice I've snapped chains.
In any event, when the MUPs are clear, I leave at 7:30 on Saturday mornings. I get in my 20-mile long-loop to work, stop at the diner to refuel, and arrive around 9:15. I have a shorter winter loop using only plowed roads that lets me leave by 8 or so (with diner stop).

I'm up between 4:30 and 4:45, on the bike out the door by 5:35, and at work between 6:05 and 6:15. 8 miles and change each way. I start work at 6:30 and need some time to dry off and change clothes. Recently went on straight 8 day shift, so that's really nice compared to 12 hour swings!

Argh! I hate most of you folks so far. No banking hours here. If I was commuting to work today, I have to wake by 3:45 and leave the house between 4:15 and 4:30. Trek 5 mi to local transportation for another 1/2 hour of train ride, then it is another 4 mile from the station to work. If all goes well, I should be at work by 5:45.
I don't do this winter time. Too dark, too early and too dangerous to be out on the road alone. Only commute during summer month. Also with all the heavy rain we had this week, it probably faster to swim.

Up at 4:30am; leave home in the car with the bike on the rack at 5:00am; get to parknride, 25 miles away by 5:30am; bike last 11 miles and get to work around 6:30am.

I've been playing with this but it's in the neighborhood of 5:30 ~ 6:30 am. I say the earlier the better!

I prefer to get up at 5AM, but many times I didn't get to sleep early enough, and it's better if I sleep the extra hour and get up at 6 instead.
I show up at work when I get there and leave when I am ready to leave, nobody really keeps track, so it's nice to shift my day away from the majority of the traffic.

It's 35km each way, but in the winter, I take the train part way in the morning so it's 15km coming in and 35 going home. The train only saves about 15 minutes, but it cuts out a nasty section of the route. The 2hrs includes time to get to work, take a shower, and change into work clothes. The 2hr return includes changing back into bike clothes (10 minutes) and accounts for the 400m of elevation gain on the way home. Total riding time in the winter is about 1:30 to 1:45 each way. In the summer, that drops to 1:15 to 1:30. I ride at a decent pace, but I'm not racing.

I'm NOT a morning person and have a fairly flexible arrival time at work, so I usually leave sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. My commute is just about 7 miles on the dot one way, and I generally make it in about 30 minutes, give of take a few depending on wind, legs, etc. Gets me to work by about 9:30 or so. I leave a little earlier in the summer to give myself a few extra minutes to shower when I get in. Leave the office around 5:30 or sometimes a little later. Rinse and repeat approx. 5 days a week just about every week of the year I'm not on vacation.
Nice thing is, for me, bike is fastest way to get to work. Metro takes an hour (including walking to and from), and driving isn't an option I consider. Allows me to sleep until 7:30 instead of having to get up at 7:00! Makes it easy to stay motivated about commuting!

Leaving at 6am gives me a better ride, but leaving at 7 gives me daylight in winter. It varies depending on whether I can get myself to bed at 8:00pm or whether I dawdle. Either way gives me a cushion for flats as work starts at 8:30am.

I am up at 5am, out the door at 6:10am, at work by 640am.. I start at 8am. I like to get in a little BF/my time before I start work.
On days I drive.. I get up at 6am, drive in at 7:30 to be there at 8am.
I leave at 5pm with the other morons in the city rushing home.
Thats my wacky schedule.
