Nice pics, Coolio. Particularly cool and eerie and beautiful and... are the pics from the cemetery (I'm assuming Arlington).

I'm enjoying the days off, which are one of the only upsides to this whole storm. It's played havoc w/ delivery of my new rear wheel, cassette, and some other assorted bicycle goodies, but since I won't be riding until Dog knows when now, I guess it's not a big deal. Unfortunately the spacer I need to put my 7 spd cassette on the 9 spd hub was to be shipped to my office. So even if I do get the wheel today, I won't be able to do jack squat w/ it since I don't know when either I or the spacer will be in the office again.

rumrunn, how was the trip this weekend?

I don't know how you'll show your son asian work ethic, haha, but.. it took three days.

And all this was so that it could snow again today and tomorrow.

I'm in Chicago and am used to getting snowed on during the winter but not like you guys were. With more snow on the way, we're both going to be dealing with this for a while.

Holy cow people, you're getting more of the white stuff soon, it seems. We may even get some in NY in the next 24 hours or so.

Got my Nokians yesterday before the snow. But while they were listed as 2.1" on the site, they're actually 2.2" and won't clear my fenders or my chainstays.

26" or 700c? If you're going to flip them may be interested.

Our two Newfoundlands out in the snow last Saturday:

Both dogs are well over 24" at the shoulder, and they're not even getting near the actual ground under the snow...

Global warming is responsible for this due to the heating up of the atmosphere which in turn increased moisture which in turn made is snow like crazy...but then they said prior to this snow fall that the lack of snow fall in N America was due to global warming heating up the atmosphere that it would not snow because it was too warm...WHICH IS IT!!!!

That's why more people should ride. It would also curb the obesity epidemic in America.

Today's commute was my first ride since last Friday when I took a long meandering ride home in the falling snow. The roads from my home in NW Arlington into Rosslyn were clear enough that the ride should have been easy. Unfortunately, too many commuters were driving in causing major traffic jams on Washington Blvd, Quincy at Fairfax and from Courthouse all the way down Clarendon/Wilson to Key Bridge.

Instead of cycling on the W&OD, I've been cross-country skiing there. Here is sunset on the 6th at the 3 milepost in Bluemont Park and at the 2.5 milepost in Glencarlyn.

Snow pile after shoveling the driveway on the 10th.

26". I'm pretty sure I can get the front to fit,I just need to swap the full Freddy for the old MTB fender. I'm going to hold on to them since I have other bikes they'll fit on,the Safari is just the only one I'm running through the crap right now.
