How many of you have ever stopped into the lbs to look around with no intention of buying but walk out with a new bike?
I have had a recent fetish with IGH bikes and they had a 2008 model Trek Soho still on the floor at a decent discount. It's now mine.

Where are the pictures???
Congratulations
A new bike is always fun! Although, I'll never buy a new bike again. I'll either build one from scratch or buy a used one and modify it. I decided I like wrenching a lot, it's so much fun and it feels great to put together your own ride! Same with computers, by the way

This is why I avoid my LBS. When I do visit, I don't even gaze in the direction of the new bikes. If one of the salespersons asks if I'd like to take a look at..., I tell them I'm in a rush.
Anyway, hope you like your new bike.

I'm letting the shop put the rack on and they talked me into the Portland style fenders. Those are definitely minimalist fenders. I also like bar ends and since weight isn't something I'm concerned with, I'm adding those too.
Something I'm wondering about is if I'll have clearance for some 700X35 studs next winter.

Bikes: At one point it was a Trek 700 something. Now it have Velocity Psycho wheels, a tape job. Thumb shifters (Shimano Deore). Corncob grouping, and drop bar ends all wrapped up in tape.
If I ever did that, my wife would literally kill me.

I understand completely. Here's the question, does my wife know yet or not?

I have a rule. I don't spend more than $100 on anything the same day I lay eyes on it, unless there's some special circumstances (super deal, last day, etc).
I currently only own one bike. I've been thinking about getting another one for about 3 years now. I've found several that I really like, but I can't bring myself to think that I actually need more than one bike. Need and want are two very different things.

So I'm not in trouble. I cleared it with the wife before actually bringing it home. Gonna pick it up tomorrow. A rack, a set of Portland fenders (not sure I like them) and some bar ends added. Pretty anxious to get on it.
Anybody know anything about changing the rear tire on an IGH? It doesn't have a quick release. Also, I've never had disc brakes so am not sure if any adjustment or maintenance is normally necessary for those.

Congrats on the new bike. It's great. :-)>
