Its a brave new world isn't it?
A gramme is better than a damn...

No, I actually like advertisements. How else would I know about the lastest in *****-enhancing methodology?

Oh, this thing blocks the slang for "erection". My mistake.

Also, in before this gets moved to Foo. Where I will likely rejoin it.

But going back to the original post: yeah, whoever runs this ad campaign isn't doing it right. The ads should be more targeted towards the audience. When I'm on computer sites I don't see ads for bicycles, horns and truck. It's mainly, you know: computer stuff. Showing this kind of ads on a bike forum is a complete waste of their advertising dollars.

Lol, I used to work at a company that put up news articles.

I'm making this one up, but it was like this -
Article Title "Toyota Camry Accelerates out of control, killing 5"
Ad "Toyota Camry V6 - Great Acceleration!"

What the others said about it being a computer program picking key words out of the text to base the ads on. They're not perfect by any means, and I think that the words in Heading tags rank higher than words in standard text. Which is why it latches on to the titles of threads more than the body of messages. Also, let's not get the forum black listed by anyone while trying to trick the ad generating code please. I'm sure there are some filters on what sort of ads will be served regardless of what text is in the title or body of the thread.

-- leaving this thread here for now. But the decision to move it to Foo or another forum may be made in the future. A redirect will be left here if that move is made. just fyi.
