My commute is only 15 miles each way; never had a problem during the commute.
I've taken a tip from the seniour randos in my club and I carry a ziploc with some TP when I'm out on a distance ride 300k or longer, or a ride with a 50mi+ area listed as "no services". On those long rides, or rides though desolate areas, you can get caught by the urge in the middle of the night when all the stores are closed, or when you're 2 hours of riding from the nearest populated area.
