Come on! Admit it! You just wanted an excuse to post pics of your new bike!

I'm gonna pick up a new Big Dummy soon, will get used for commuting sometimes, does that count?

Yeah I did but I already posted it in another thread but I really wanted to know if anyone else got a new bike too, honest.

I got this one second-hand in February. It wasn't intended as a commuter, but lately we've had gorgeous weather during the week and crap on the weekend. It's been spending all its time on its hook in the living room looking forlorn.

So this week on Monday I used the Portland to haul in a whole week's worth of food and clothes (and library books), commuted on this little beastie Tuesday and Wednesday, then hauled home all the laundry (and more library books) on Thursday with Yellow Bike.

It's a 1999 Schwinn Peloton, with a Reynolds 853 frame and a ton of component upgrades courtesy of its first owner. It's rapidly becoming my favorite bike, even if "practical" isn't in its vocabulary.

On Wednesday, it took over five minutes off my 16.5 mile long-loop commute home, while at the same time turning in my lowest average heart rate for that route. It makes going fast, easy.

I did ... I'm new to this commuting stuff, I have a 17 mile round trip. I bought a Schwinn Broadway Hybrid after riding my MTB a couple of times last summer. The new bike has allowed me to shave about 15 minutes off of the ride each way. It came with the rear rack, so I'll add a trunk bag/panniers as the budget allows.

Thanks. I've had amazing luck. I just happen upon them when I think, Hmmm, a new bike would be nice. This time, I'd walked into the LBS to inquire about steel frames to build up. As I walked past this one, it all but shouted, "Buy me instead!" The price was considerably less than what I'd been intending to spend for a frame-only, so I bought it. I love the thing.

Just wait'll you see what I put a deposit on last week. I was thinking, Hmmm, a Ti bike would fill out the collection nicely. Then a member of my club has had to switch to recumbents and began selling off his DF bikes. I'll be paying him a hundred or two on every payday until mid-June or early July...

And congrats on your Windsor. Before this Ti bike fell into my lap, I was looking at BD's Ti bikes.

Nice. I like the arc of the top tube and chainstays. Very retro, in an updated way. May you enjoy many happy miles.

I bought a second hand '08 Kona Jake for this years commute (no pictures yet). I hadn't ridden a bike with drop handlebars since the 80's so it took some getting used to but after riding it for nearly a month I'm really enjoying it. It's much lighter and zippier than my old cheap hybrid commuter but it's still rugged enough for my daily use. I've added a rear rack and fenders so far and I'm planning on some better panniers than I currently have.

I got a new (old leather Wrights) saddle, new wheelset and new Schalbe Marathons. My my for realz new bike will hopefully be put together in the fall. I have an old frame and a nice wheelset with a dynohub that would make a good winter commuter.

I was actually pretty astounded at how nicely she turned out and how nicely the 700c conversion went.

I sold my old Electra cruiser last year and have really regretted it so I bought a Trek Cruiser Classic Deluxe as replacement for when it rains. It now has a Brooks b67 saddle, sealed bottom bracket, BMX platform pedals, Wald 8038 riser bars, a saddle bag, and a 36t chainring. She isn't fast (44 gear inch) or light (at least 40 lbs) but, she is comfy, reliable, and can climb the stupid hills here in town with out me getting out of the saddle. Oh and it looks really cool IMHO. I would have bought another Electra but I hate the flat foot "technology" these things have now. In my opinion, the Trek is better than my old Electra. I will see if I can post pics.

I bought a Fuji Cross frame on ebay and built it up with Ultegra components. VO Saddle, good seat post and stem and a Caradice Nelson Long flap bag. It was my first build and it turned out really nice.

Only minor regret might be the Schwalbe Marathon Plus, they are bulletproof and pretty comfortable but heavy as hell.

I completed my winter project a few weeks ago, but only have taken a couple of indoor pics shortly after finishing. I have since added a second bottle cage and lights. Been rocking the commute on her since. I have been meaning to take some pics on the trail and should post some soon.

I Think I am going to get a surly long haul trucker(I hope i do, just need to figure it out)

And maybe Extracycle Radish, for my girlfriend, 2010 model, just have to wait to get it out,

I also need a job, that might help with these ideas.

A new Nashbar frame and new-to-me components. Great ride so far, but these 32c Paselas seem to pinch flat like a mother, even at the right psi.
