Almost there
I'll start by saying I haven't really been on a bike in 15 years. I'm working my way up to being able to commute to and from work 5 days a week.
I took the bike out for another ride today. My commute to work is going to be 7.4 miles. Today I did 5.62 miles in 20min. I think I could get to the office on the bike, and still be useful. I'm not sure however whether or not I'd make it home. The ride to the office is mostly down hill.
In any case I'm going to try it next week when I'm not committed to picking my daughter up from school after work. I'd hate to not make it in time.

In the right lane
Absenth, I hope you stick with it.. there are so many benefits to bicycle commuting! But try to make sure you *enjoy* it... so use every strategy you can think of.
