Even if you're whippet thin, bibs just fit nicer and feel more comfortable. 197 riders in the TdF can't be wrong, can they?

You also don't get that cool breeze up your back/down your plumber's pencil holder in the fall/winter.

I dunno if all 197 riders wear bibs but I won't argue that. The one point I have heard that sounds reasonable to me is that you have to basically totally undress to take a leak. Not to mention bibs just cost more.

Heck if bibs are so great, why not wear the Assos Chronosuit?

I do have a set of bib tights for the winter and they do limit airflow to parts you'd rather keep warm which is good. If it's warm enough for shorts though that's not something I'm worried about.

Men can pee with bibs. I've seen guys do it. Looks pretty awkward.

Basic "business" is no big deal with bibs. Hike 'em down with the thumb, do your thing.

Big "business" is a real pain, especially if there are no hooks in the stall to hang your jersey. This happens so rarely out on a ride, it's not a huge deal. For the gals.... someone would have to chime in on that. The women on my team all wore bibs, and no one seemed to grumble about the inconvenience when we stopped at the facilities.

They're used to dropping their drawers to go to the potty

I ended up getting a pair of Sugoi undershorts which, after riding in them for the first time today, seemed pretty good though I did notice less feedback from the road due to the chamois padding for the groin. I'll keep this thread posted with my longer term impressions of said shorts.

For #2 you just pull your arms up out of your jersey and let it hang around your neck then pull your bib straps off and pull them down like shorts. Its not that hard.
