Pants for commuting, utility cycling clyde

I didn't really know where to post this. I don't really commute, but do general running around on my bike. When the weather gets a little colder, I would like a pair of pants with pockets and no seam in the crotch to wear to run errands and be in and out of stores.

I'm a clyde, so not all pants fit me or fit me appropriately. I just got a pair of North Face convertible pants. they are OK, but pretty expensive and I'm not crazy about how they "fit" me. I mean they fit, but just don't look good or right.

I have found that with my Brooks B17 and Exofficio boxers or boxer briefs, I do not need to wear padded bike shorts for just doing errands. I do however need something with an appropriate crotch area for some extended riding.

Sorry for the rambling

I was going to get a pair of these
https://www.bicycleclothing.com/Patro...ts-Unisex.html

but they didn't have my size for quite a while. I never ended up getting them, so I don't have personal experience with them.

Those look great, but a little more than I wanted to spend. I may have to.

Any other thoughts?

I have been using the same pair of patrol pants for cool/cold weather commuting for the last 5 years...making them well worth the price. The zip-off legs make them great for fall and spring when the ride home temps are above 65ish.

What about BDUs? It shouldn't be hard to find ones that have a gusseted crotch. In solid colors they look just like any other pair of cargo pants.

If you find them with gusseted crotches or flat seams let me know...they are like the holy grail to me!

I don't know what a gusseted crotch is, but this has pockets, a diamond-gusseted crotch, is a wool blend, and is $5:

Bikes: Surly Cross-Check (commuter), Lemond Sarthe (sports car), Schwinn fixed gear conversion (for fun)

Check out rock climbing pants. I have two pairs of "boulder shorts" by Kuhl. REI and other outdoor stores sell these. Gusseted crotch, few seams. I love mine.
