Help me choose my new frame

Going to get a specialized frame and build it up for commuting. Will be using a touring width tire (700 x 28-32).

So which woudl you buy:

Crux

https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...01&scname=Road

or

Allez

https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...01&scname=Road

Crux gives me a cantilever option better for larger tires and has a slightly more relaxed geometry. Allez geometry probably a little quicker and nimbler for my size. I've grown to full clyde status at 6'3" 240, but will dump 40 no problem ridding more often.

Anyone have anything on these? They are very similar framesets.

Neither, I'd just get something more practical : Redline Conquest classic.
RL/SBS has a steel framed Cross type bike with disc brakes.

Neither you picked take mudguards so you will wear
anything you ride thru on your route,
So I'd suggest looking for Mudguard mounting , as a consideration,
and a rear rack to pick up and haul some cyclist fuel on the way home..

You are commuting after all , now if you want to take up cyclocross racing
or have a roadie club that is always one upping each other on equipment.
then Carbon Fiber stuff may indulge that.

The Crux b/c it can take those tires and the Allez can't(i'm 99.5% sure of this).

BTW, you can ignore that single vote for allez. I clicked too soon.

If that's the sector that floats your boat .

+1 Put me down for neither. Both are race bikes for there respective fields, road racing for the Allez and Cross racing for the CruX. The flat bar Sirrus is more of an all rounder and is cheaper if you're set on Specilized there is even a disk model.

I voted for the Crux, but I think the TriCross would be better.

The sirrus has room for fenders and 28 tires. I ran some 35s last year under my fenders but it was super-tight and there was a bit of rub if ice built up on the stays. I converted mine over to drop bars for around 100$. Might even be able to scoop one up at end-of-season sale price.

Bikes: To many to list...

I voted for the Crux, but thats because I wouldn't mind trying out a cross bike one of these days. It seems like a better platform for a commuter in general but I commute on a MTB so I would naturally lean towards the cross bike.

Neither one is a real commuter frame. You can commute on a racing bike, why not, but these are not commuter frames.

If you're serious about the 32s, that pretty much eliminates the Allez from consideration, doesn't it?

I'm not carrying anything but myself so its more about the comfort and rigidity of the frame. There isn't much out there on them so I asked.
