I had a moronic punk throw a full can of Miller Lite at me yesterday on my commute home... Kids in a lifted, uniquely painted SUV. How do you all handle this sort of assault? I was so stunned that I didn't catch the plates. I am thinking of waiting for him on the ride home today with a chain and masterlock, and just staring at him while I hold it up for him to see. I am very upset that someone would be so disrespectful, and so inconsiderate of another persons life that they would do that. In rush hour traffic I could have easily been making this post from the hospital.
Other than that it was great, if a little warm! I pick up my new Globe Haul today, so I am really excited.

Perhaps my nicest morning commute of the year so far. After two weeks of blistering heat and high humidity, a cool front came through yesterday afternoon. It was actually just as warm this morning as it has been lately (low 70s), but the drop in humidity was amazing. I was nearly dry when I got to work this morning despite riding one of my fastest commutes of the year, while I've been soaking wet from sweat after my morning commute the past two weeks. It should be equally nice this afternoon, with high only expected to hit the mid-80s, about 10 degrees lower than it has been lately.
Got a flat on my way home Wednesday, but it had the decency to be a slow leak that didn't actually lose air until I got home. Probably 90% of my flats are that way, and I usually don't notice them until the next day. I've got a pile of tubes in my garage that need repairing next time we get a rainy day.

This morning was awesome. Sunny, light breeze, and hey - it's Friday! Also, I left a little earlier than usual and I liked resulting quietness around the neighbourhood.

Nice ride this morning. 50F/10C with a decent tailwind. I passed one woman riding a bicycle that was making so much squeaking noise, I'm not sure if she heard my bell. Dogs can probably hear her coming for 3 miles.

42F, the sun is now over the mountains and shining across the valley at 6:30 when I get on the bike. Solstice is nearing - surprisingly fast. Good ride today.

Bit of a headwind this AM as winds were out of the north at abt 15 mph. I'll take it, though. Much cooler and drier than earlier this week. And I got to enjoy it as a tailwind last night and should have another this afternoon.

Lovely day yesterday so I rode the road bike to work even though it would be getting dark just as I got home.
While riding home my Cat Eye blinky type headlight fell off after I hit a rough spot on the road. The light survived but it seems the pivot screw had fallen out and it was long gone, which left me riding in the dark with no headlight.
What a piece of crap.
I am now fabricating a mount for my LED cree flashlight for the road bike like the one on my fenderbeast and tossing the Cat Eye in the trash where it belongs.

A bit humid this morning. It was 65 degrees (very pleasant) but sooo humid my glasses fogged up when I stopped at lights and my mirror was fogged over. The humidity gave the sprinkler system at Anthem an eerie, foggy sort of look about sunrise. A very, very nice ride in. Some of my streets were closed so I had to improvise, rode on a side walk and went the wrong way for a block or two. I am just confessing because I seen a couple of other commuters headed the other way.

More great commute weather. Sunny, 54F/12C, and no wind. Had some silly commuter racing. Some guy caught me in a slow area (rough pavement, some flooding, gotta ride over dirt and gravel), but I opened it up after that and dropped him.

Nice enough weather, but an older man (looked on his way to work) in a Subaru cut me off/almost hit me on Penn Ave coming into Washington Circle and had no idea. I stopped next to him at the traffic lights and told him that he almost did that. He seemed reluctant to wind down his window and seemed perplexed and wouldn't even apologize.
Last Friday I did my full commute, but left so early (~6am) that I took all major roads on the way in. It was faaaaast
30mins, which is only 5 mins more than driving. The total round-trip was around 17 miles and I might try to do that again later this week.

Today was a milestone of sorts - first ride of the year with no wind shell, only shorts and a running tee. 58F, warm, beautiful. I look forward to light and simple Summer commutes.

upper 60's beautiful, not much wind. did lose my temper and yelled at the 4th or 5th car I came up on that was parked in the bike lane with their hazards on and the driver just sitting there as if the hazards make it ok. have to work on my temper a bit, and there weren't any good parking spots left when I got to work so I had to improvise, but the ride itself was nice.

Overslept so started late. Then lost my headlight when it shattered to the pavement. But otherwise, a very nice day. Glad I didn't give in and ride the bus.
