I normally like to remain relatively anonymous, but in this case I'll make an exception. I'm the second one from the left:

Ok, here's a pic of me where you can actually see my face. Yes, I'm wearing a wetsuit. No, I don't want to explain why. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...bikewinter.jpg |

Chip better wear his ninja suit as the groundhog is going to see him coming from a mile away. |

The Mississippi is cold this time of year. And Minneapolis' track record with bridges kinda sucks.... |

At first thought it reminded me of the Rain City Superheroes... except so much cooler as these guys use bikes to fight crime.

Sometimes I forget what I look like while wearing the respirator, I guess this explains why people don't smile back when I say "hi" passing them on the MUP. The snow on the road is gone, but I've still been wearing the respirator for -10C and below days with headwinds.

Here is a pic of how the Burley Piccolo links up. It attaches to a proprietary Burley rack. There is a threaded portion in the center of the rack, that the hitch screws in to. The big silver steel portion of the hitch is a backup to the bolt. The whole rig is wicked secure. I did a 7 or 8 mile ride with my daughter last weekend, and hardy noticed that my daughter was there. She has no sense of balance yet, so that's pretty cool. I even did a 3-mile ride with an empty piccolo, and there was no problem.
Overall, I'm blown away by the Piccolo. The downsides are: 1. No longer produced. 2. Hard to find, and generally demand a premium price. 3. Must use the proprietary rack 4. Heavier than other trailer bikes The upsides are: 1. Wicked stable 2. Gear shifting on the Piccolo!!!! 3. bombproof 4. Accessories are still available from Burley. I got lucky and found one on Craigslist for $50.00. :D:D:D I want a second one for my wife's bike now that I have 3 year old twins and my 7 year old is starting to ride on his own. The twins are big for their age and won't fit in the D'Lite much longer. I can only hope to find one used. |

This is the best I've got already in my photobucket.
