My first thought was that it must have been some idiots up at Park Point in Duluth. Who surfs in a blizzard? Then upon reflection I realized that all it would take for me to go surfing in a blizzard is

a: the ability to surf

and

b: a blizzard.

Then I find out that the blizzard they were supposed to get totally missed them while I, on the other hand, was riding into the teeth of 30 - 40 mph gusts at 2:00 am. Wednesday with all manor of frozen precip being thrown at me. So who's the idiot?

He's not as scary looking as the ground hog ;)

It got into the low 30Fs, maybe high 20Fs a few years ago in the mornings. Today was 44F and I was cold - my fingers were numb. Most cyclists in San Diego don't own insulated clothing. My normal winter commuting outfit is long tights, l/s baselayer, l/s jersey, windbreaker jacket and light gloves. Once it gets into the high 50Fs, I start wearing regular shorts, t-shirt and maybe a sweatshirt.

I don't have any pictures of me commuting. This was taken in January 2011 at a brevet control. I don't know about the smirk on my face; I look like a dickhead.

I don't really have any pics of me on a bike and I don't really have many recent pics of just myself. Pretty much all of the pics where I am the only person in the shot usually include food or a cat so I'll include one of each.

Fizzaly nice cap. I have been wearing mine a bit recently. I sold all the rest of the caps a couple weeks ago, but I have a few left for myself pretty much the ones with some dirt marks on them.
