Commuter Pics... What Do You Look Like ?
Was testing some new gear today and also helping with a project at the University on materials and gear so got my friend to snap a picture of me in all my geekitude.
http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikep...mmutegear1.JPG So then I got thinking... what do you all look like ? |

Me with my Bag of Weed find in Memphis, TN |
For the gear freaks... the jacket is an old school MEC cycling jacket which is pretty ubiquitous in these parts and the pants are Blurr cycling pants which look casual but are nicely articulated and roomy as well as being very wind resistant. Had a layer of wool (sweater) and fleece pants underneath to provide insulation.

No cycling-specific gear in this pic, just me posed with my small fleet this past summer.

I normally like to remain relatively anonymous, but in this case I'll make an exception. I'm the second one from the left:

I have also picked my youngest daughter up from school on my extrabike and have stoker bars so all she has to do is hang on and enjoy the ride.... that is limo service. http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/extraextra2.JPG |

Here's a shot of me my friend took after a 75-mile MS ride this past October. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=194881 |
I just want you to know that in spite of these pictures, in my head you will always like the Bicycle Repair Man, Data Junkie will look like a monkey, and Chipcom will look like a photo shoot gone wrong.
Ok, here's a pic of me where you can actually see my face. Yes, I'm wearing a wetsuit. No, I don't want to explain why. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...bikewinter.jpg |

http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...y/IMAG0228.jpg I don't have photos of it yet but I am going to do similar with my son to daycare. This year he is going to be in a chariot. |
This picture is a few years old. The kids were playing in the front yard when I got home.

Here is a pic of how the Burley Piccolo links up. It attaches to a proprietary Burley rack. There is a threaded portion in the center of the rack, that the hitch screws in to. The big silver steel portion of the hitch is a backup to the bolt. The whole rig is wicked secure. I did a 7 or 8 mile ride with my daughter last weekend, and hardy noticed that my daughter was there. She has no sense of balance yet, so that's pretty cool. I even did a 3-mile ride with an empty piccolo, and there was no problem.
Overall, I'm blown away by the Piccolo. The downsides are: 1. No longer produced. 2. Hard to find, and generally demand a premium price. 3. Must use the proprietary rack 4. Heavier than other trailer bikes The upsides are: 1. Wicked stable 2. Gear shifting on the Piccolo!!!! 3. bombproof 4. Accessories are still available from Burley. I got lucky and found one on Craigslist for $50.00. :D:D:D http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...kes/burley.jpg http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...tretchLimo.jpg |
