I ride every day. Sometimes, though, I'll walk instead (~3 miles each way) for fun. The car is a measure of last resort. I drive in so rarely that it feels odd to do it.

I bike every day, most of the time. I can't say 5/5 in the poll though, because ridiculous cold/snow/ice made me miss 15 days in january and february when nice friends offered me rides during moments of weakness
So certainly more than 4/4, but less than 5/5 on average for the year

I want to start communting this year as well. Being we have no locker room, place to change and clean up other than the bathroom, and bike must be taken upstairs into a storage room, I will probably be more of a fair weather commuter.
For a plant of over 400 people (150 being salary), I am really surprised that they reject multiple requests for better supporting facilities.

I average 4. There were certainly months this winter where it felt like I didn't ride 4 times with all the ice, but now that that is out of the way, it's 3 some weeks, 5 others. If I have a late class/work, I'll usually ride in then take the train home since my route home goes through a park that I'm not comfortable in after dark and there's no easy way around. I'll make exceptions for crappy weather--thunderstorms/hail, gusts over 35mph or so (unless it'll be a tail wind :) and take the train those days, but that also allows me to run errands that are hard to do on the bike. Also, if I have to dress up for something I'll usually take the train rather than try to get nice clothes to work looking unwrinkled....

3 days per week on average, and it's a 50/50 commute for me: Drive to the park 'n' ride, ride to work.
My round trip route is 32 miles and I start at awful o'clock in the morning. To get in on time, shower, have some breakfast, etc. I'd have to get up around 3:30 in the morning. Screw that. I still get 20mi r/t by doing the 50/50 commute, and cut my overall driving by 50%, plus I can sleep for an extra hour.
Mostly it's the weather keeping me from 5 days right now. I've had enough of this crapola rain/sleet/hail mix we've been getting all winter/spring.

I have to confess I voted 5/5, based on the last 4 years and a 10 mile round trip commute. A recent job change puts me 16 miles from work and the roads just aren't well enough plowed for winter commuting that distance, so I will now shoot for 3/5 for 8 months a year.

I'll bike everyday it isn't raining out and above 30 degrees F. Reason being I don't have fenders on my bike and have never seen a good looking set for my gary fisher hardtail that I commute on.

5/5 is my goal, but on days where I have to deliver my son to daycare I drive as I can't take the sounds of a 6-year old complaining about his freezing cheeks or wet hair. It was nice this morning when he asked me to pick him up by bike tomorrow instead of having mom get him by car.

I voted 3 days a week which is 75% for me (I work 4/10s). Most of the days I drive it is due to meetings or appointments plus I drive a dozen or so days a year due to weather (rain or wind gusts above 35 MPH).

It depends. Sometimes none, sometimes 3 depending on the usual stuff.... Last week I had to give up a day of commuting to drive to a meeting on improving bicycle facilities in town to make it easier for others to ride.

I try to ride 5/5 but every once in awhile the logistics of transporting kids to school and their activities has interfered. Today for example: wife is out of town for a conference so I'm responbible for getting them to school and my FIL is getting them to swim and baseball after. We could have all ridden to school and then me to work but didn't want to saddle the kids' granddad with having to figure out what to do with their bikes.

I voted 4, but sometimes it's 5, sometimes 3. I try to do a "door to door" commute (approx.) 25 miles one way, once a week, but the other four are a mix of bike-subway-bike excursions. Been at it four years this month, and just wanted to give a thanks for all the advice and encouragement I've had on the Commuting forums since I started reading it.

Every day since I bought my first bike on March 29, 2006. If I'm at work, it's because I rode my bike there. No ifs, buts, or excepts.

Every day. Last year I rode the bus for a month? Broken hand, and I started riding as soon as I could because I was going crazy. Of course the doctor (and wife) thought I was crazy for riding in a cast.

I spent almost 18 months riding every single day, sort of a self-imposed challenge. But eventually I decided I was just being stupid. I have a car sitting there, and if I need to pick up lumber it is silly to ride to work and back then drive the car past work to the lumberyard. And if there's 6 inches of wet, unplowed snow on the ground, it's just miserable to ride in, and I may as well just drive.

Every day unless its pouring rain. Its been unusually dry so far and I havent missed a day this year yet - all the rain so far has been on weekends or at night. I missed two days last year because of ice. I've only been at it about 9 months though. We'll see how I feel about heading off to work on my bike when its 93 in the morning. I dont have showers at work.

Im impressed with alot of Ya, actually some weeks I dont commute at all. biggest problem is scheduale after work often gets busy and I need to be places I cant get to with the bike on time.
I try to get in 2 a week.
