Poor dog.
I was riding fast down a street that ran parallel to a decent sized ditch overgrown with tall grass and a sidewalk next to it. A lady was walking her dog and it sprinted after me, sailed over the ditch and ran out of leash. Poor guy got flung backwards by his neck and landed on his back in the ditch.
I think he was ok. A small part of me enjoyed the sight as i have been chased by aggressive dogs many times. That being said he didn't put off the aggressive vibe and i hope he is ok.
Unexpected and funny as hell to watch.

Yeah, poor dog.
Two weeks ago one of my regular customers came in for a bite and got a snout full of pepper spray. A few days after that it was hit by a car chasing me. Not fatally, evidently. It was out again a week later, but has been more hesitant to chase since.
These are owner malfunctions, not dog malfunctions. You can train a dog and keep it under control (I do with mine). Most people just choose not to.

I have found that a squirt with a water bottle makes dogs leave me alone, and it doesn't hurt them.
