Cranksets for a S/S?
Hello all! I'm a n00b member and a n00b bicyclist, but in the past couple months have found that this is a lifestyle change I readily accept and am hoping to ditch my car completely in the next few months.
Anyway, I bought a 2011 SE Draft, as an introductory bike. I was into BMX as a kid in the 80s, but it had been so long, and I wasn't sure if riding was going to be somewhat of a hobby or what. Come to find out I can't ride this bike enough! In fact, I've ridden at least 7-8 miles per day every day since buying this thing. Kind of wishing I bought a bit better bike now, but hindsight is 20/20 so I want to make best with what I have.
So I am discovering first-hand what the bike shop told me, which was that the bike's frame is nice, but they estimated that 70% of the money went towards the frame, with 30% left to everything else. I'm waiting on my Deep Vs to get shipped (went with the Deep Vs because I'm 225lbs and there are a ton of potholes in Puddle Town).
Anyway, I'm looking to swap out the crankset. Money IS an object, and since I'll be replacing the brakes soon enough, would like to keep it realistically priced. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
