Emergency Restroom Stop
Have you ever been peacefully riding along when suddenly you realize that you must make an emergency restroom stop, with no time left to lock-up your bike?
This happened to me. I asked this kid (about 15-16 yrs old.) to watch my bike for $5.00
I felt so relieved when I returned to my bike and the kid, to learn that they were both still there!

I can't say that's ever happened to me. I mean, I've had to relieve myself while riding home from work, but I just dashed into the woods. One of the benefits of a rural route, I suppose.
Lucky you found an honest kid. He could've ended up with 5 bucks and a nice bike!

Seems to me it would take a lot longer to make this $5 transaction with a stranger then to slap a lock on a bike.

First you have to find a secure place to lock your bike. Then you have to take your lock out of your backpack. Next, you've got to position your bike just so. Now, you're free to open your keyed U lock, and secure your lock, to your bike, and whatever stationery object you just found. ( 5 minutes)
All of that, as opposed to, " Hey kid, I'm going into Starbucks to get a cup a coffee, this five bucks is yours when I come out, if you watch my bike!"-DONE! ( 5 seconds)

I wear trishorts to commute and I can generally just to the side of the road and wait for a break in traffic, or behind a building and never even dismount.....

You'd have to have radar or a strong magnet or something, to locate a good place to lock your bike, unless there's parking meters around...

I had years of issues with my GI tract and stomach before I managed to get everything working in some semblance of order. In that time I mapped out every port-a-loo and restroom on my route. Still had to go in the woods a couple of times. Hence the reason why TP was in my commuting bag for the longest time.
I could lock up my bike in 20 seconds flat but did not bother at times.
The worst was a 5F snowy early morning commute and a port-a-potti that had just been cleaned and was covered in blue water. I think I set a record with that one.

I know how to pee very well and have since I was born, so when that sudden call comes, I move around to ease the urge until I can lock up my bike before going into any establishment to relieve myself.

As pictured. Easy access, through both wheels and locked in 15 seconds; don't need to lock it to anything for a 5 minute stop.

As a matter of fact, you plan not to move around for #2, otherwise, there could be some slippage!
