Bikes: It's the motor, not the bike, right?

Seat with bow- how do you know it is level?

Seat on my commuter:

I've been having a lot of discomfort in my nether regions and trying to get my seat right on my new commuter. I took of the stock seat because it was causing me issues. As you can see on my replacement seat, it is bowed and so how to I know if it is flat? If the portion my sit bones touch is flat, the nose is up too much. I'm thinking I might have some pulled muscles and getting referred pain in my testes, but it hasn't gone away with the new seat- I feel there is still too much pressure on my perineum. Right before I took this picture I adjusted the nose of the seat down slightly, we'll see how it goes on my ride home today.

What do you all think?

How do you know your camera is level?

Level isn't the target anyway, comfortable is.

I don't know it's level, but the top tube is, so more or less... The picture is more to show the shape of the seat than to ask if it is level. You make a good point in that it really only matters what is comfortable. I guess in part I'm asking because I don't want tonight's ride home to be uncomfortable and any advice on what, in a general sense, will work with a seat like this would be helpful.

Close: Level is a good starting place. Ride then adjust from there as to how it feels.

Bikes: See sig

Get the saddle rails level. If the top tube of your bike is level, the saddle is pointed nose up in that photo.

Thanks! I wasn't even paying attention to the rails, only on the position of the saddle itself. No wonder my netherbits have been a little off- I had that sucker pointing way up. I think I was more focused on getting the back part flat.

I'm trying to set mine where it is pointing just enough up to keep me from trying to slide off forward, as I don't like leaning on my hands.
