Nearly right-hooked yesterday afternoon by a minivan. I have to think that Mrs. Soccermom misjudged my speed, perhaps couldn't even imagine that a bike could go as fast as motor traffic. She was apologetic in a clueless sort of way. Got home safely so I lived to ride another day.

Great morning today, got that rare tailwind coming in. Temps are up a bit making it perfect for the mornings ride (I'm sure I'llregret the warming temps when I'm trying to sleep tonight) Light use on the ol bike trail, and I really hammered up the (only) hill right at the the end of the ride.

Almost chilly this morning, and 92F on the way home. Second time this week we stopped for frapps. For shame!

Nice ride in, both today and Tuesday.

Both nights, on the way home, I hit large areas so filled with bugs I barely dared to breathe.

Both nights, I saw BIG shooting stars! (One per night)

Both nights, the animals were moving...Tuesday I saw deer, cats, and something I think was either a cat or an escaped pet bunny. Tonight I just saw cats.

The rock band was playing again when I got home tonight, but I was taking the long route home, and didn't go past them this time.

Hi Folks
Nearly didn''t make it today! On the last stretch of road there was a large truck parked on the opposite side. Just as I arrived at this point, one car approaching from the opposite direction decides to overtake (on my side of the road) and the four :-insert favourite name for inconsiderate idiot drivers-: following all decide to do the same, almost hitting me 4 times in quick succession. I screamed at each one as they passed (not words, just a scream) and they look at me as if to say, what?

OK, so it is now fine to force me off the road even if I have the right of way. Sometimes it is hard to post one's experience and feelings without breaking the forum rules...

Cheers anyway,

Ed

Beautiful morning, sun shining, clear skys and light traffic. Had a great ride to work, am looking at a light work load for the day, and it's pay day. It doesn't get much better then this.

Well..last night was certainly interesting. Since the power went out, I left work about 10 mins early. I ended up at home about an hour and 20 mins later (it usually takes me 30 mins. max). The traffic was INSANE and people do not understand the fact that when traffic lights are out you must treat them as a four-way stop. People were going insane, and there were cars backed up everywhere. I managed to get home eventually, and was glad that it didn't take longer (it certainly would have if part of my commute wasn't on a trail with no cars!)

Hope everyone else out there is ok...

Got flat last night on the ride home. I ran over an Exacto knife blade. I am still not sure how that happened. It must have been sticking straight up from the pavement or something. Humid and hot on the ride home too.

THe ride in this morning was humid. The ride home tonight will probably be a little warm too..

I LOVE Fridays! Good ride in (almost cool). We take turns bringing in breakfast on Fridays, so when I arrived there was eggs, bacon, and potatoes waiting for me. I LOVE Fridays!

Nice ride in today, still wamer with higher humidity. Third day this week with a tailwind! Clearly am going to pay dearly for that though, as there has been a strong wind blowing all afternoon, and thunderstorms/rain predicted for "early evening" (aka quitting time) Well it's friday and I'll be heading home, so bring it on I say

Beautiful afternoon in Sacramento. (No wonder so many are trying to get that Governor's office. ) Just about ready to head out and take the long way home.

Thanks Mtn Mike! It really felt pretty special to me. I'm not braggin' though... I only spent $99.00 on the bike because I wasn't sure that I would "Stick with it"
and I didn't want to have a $500.00 (or higher) machine hanging as a piece of art in my garage. (collecting dust) Now I have been bitten by the recumbent bug and I'm just saving for the right one. It ought to be interesting to see how long the Wonderbike holds up (just for grins).

Nice day, the weather seems to be cooling off and settling into its winter trend, cool morning and warm afternoons. Had a nice peaceful ride in with light traffic and no wind.

Nice ride home Friday night. A little humid but all in all a decent ride home. Light traffic.

Nice and cool this morning (11 degrees) for a change. I actually wore a long sleeved shirt, and my hands were a bit cool. It's a nice change from the heat we've had though!

Good ride today, though I was feeling the effects of yesterday's riding. 19.0 average for the 7.6 miles.

Looking forward to the ride home again.

Cheers,

Ed

Man, this stinks. I've been on vacation for the past couple weeks and I was all set to go this a.m. I cleaned the bike and everything. I was really, really looking forward to the ride.

But I have this nasty, nasty cold that started Saturday. There was no way I could make it in without making things worse, so I'll just have to wait another day.

Nice Ride in today. Cool, no rain or construction messes (unlike recently). Still recovering from my recent fever that kept me in for 4 days.

Rode past several gas stations which were out of gas today. Also saw a lot of gas stations with long lines of cars stretched out into the street waiting to0 get some of the last gas in town! Phoenix AZ is out of gas! It was pretty wild! Maybe in the next day or two I will notice less traffic?

Not a bad ride in this morning considering how tired I was (too hot for sleeping last night) Still warm and clear with variable winds that gave me the occasional push.
