I got out of work on time for a change and had my first homeward commute in full day light. I even had the pit zips full open and my jacket only half zipped, this is definately more like it.

Typical Spring commute today, 47F-50F heavy rain showers with some sunbreaks throughout the day. To bad the sunshine came during work while the heavy rain coincided with my commute times (soggy, soggy ride) Don

Thunderstorms with 70MPH plus gusts for the trip home. Had to take shelter once before I got out of town. The rest of the trip was tricky. Typical thunderstorm for our area. Lots of wind and very little rain.

Felt a little cooler this morning, then realised that the temperature was "only" 20 degrees C for my 4.30am rise. Looks like that's just about the end of summer. Ra!

Rain and a flat rear tire on the way home today. Awesome tailwind, though - I was cruising happily at 25mph on the hybrid. Not the worst possible ride, and even if it was a bad day on the bike is better than a good day in the car...

Great ride home last night. Tempature was around 67(F) and sunny, wind again at my back.

It looks like they took the street sweepers down the sides of one of the roads I use for my commute. That was a nice sight to see, all the debris and dirt was out of the gutters.

The ride in this morning was nice. Had a small headwind but the tempature was a nice 56(F)

I started back commuting to work last week here in Dublin, first time since May 03 (was working in the UK, way too many cars!!). Feels great to be back in the saddle, short commute, only 10minutes but its better than nothing.

Today was my first ride this week and was balmy compared to the first part of the week. It had been raining off and on through the night, but fortunately stopped just before my departure. It was nice to cruise along a wet trail without getting that spray strip up my back thanks to my new rear fender. I made great time and am looking forward to the ride home as DC weather should be in the mid 60's. I'm also continuing to see more riders, even at my early time of 6:30-today I was among 6 or 7-a record.

Well I took the studs off Tuesday night and don't you know it snowed then warmed up during the night to melt the snow then froze before morning. The whole town was a sheet of ice, I missed the day and drove to work.

I had a round-about route today, since there was some business to attend to in the city centre, then back out to work in the countryside. A slightly chilly day, but I enjoyed a ride without a jacket for the first time in ages, and managed to get a good pace going too - despite the extra stops for traffic lights.

Cheers,

Ed

30F SW winds at 7MPH. Nice calm day. The river was noisy with hundreds of Canadian Geese this morning. I guess the migration has begun. A sure sign of spring.

This week the temps have rocketed to the 60s, so it's been a wonderful commute. Night temps in the 40s, this stuff rocks. Now there is T-storms in the forecast, ugh, anyone ever get hit by lightening on a bike and live to tell about it? Have been adding miles to the commute as well. There has been some bridge construction, or demolition on my route that it gets closed during the day, so I've taken a southern approach, that gets me to a school bus crossing of about 7 buses, that's a hassle.

Ahhhh, great ride this morning, a little foggy but the air is so fresh and clean smelling and they've swept a number of the streets. And, we are getting into the sixtys again today, this is unreal for this time of year! I'm psyched... summer bike, fewer layers, yes!!!

I thought Utah wasn't bike friendly (in terms of weather). But, now, I'm grateful that I'm enjoying 60 degree sunny weather commute in the morning.

Heavy overcast but no rain this morning, lots of rain on the way home. I saw several other cycle commuters today, more than usual, especially early in the Morning. I'm going to start counting daily to see if this is a trend.

Another glorious day in the Big Sky Country! Mid 50sF and very light winds. Had an old friend of mine pass me in his car, then stop along the road to visit. He had gastric bypass around Thanksgiving and has lost 94lbs. He was asking me all sort of questions about my bike. I offered to go with him to pick his first bike since he was a kid! I feel very excited for him. He is now under 300lbs for the first time in 20 years! (294 now).

Beautiful ride home last night. Tempature was right around 68(F). Traffic was heavy, but manageable.

Wet ride in, light rain showers and wet roads from the rain last night. Supposed to be rainy all day.

It was tough enough getting out of bed this morning, let alone riding to work. But, after a slow start I got into the groove and had an enjoyable, if chilly journey.

Have a good weekend folks,

Cheers

There are many days that I feel that way but I remind myself that I'll be glad I did it once I'm out there, it works 99% of the time. I had a nice commute in this morning, it was a little foggy but mild. Sunny day, we should hit the upper 50's today. I'll be going some extra miles today.

Happened to me today, too. I just couldn't push the gears I usually do, so I just sat back, took it easy and enjoyed being on the bike. Even if I struggle on the ride, I'm always glad I did it once I get there.

Repeat after me: a bad day on the bike is better than a good day in the car

It was hard to get out of bed this morning-it's been a long week. But I look forward to the ride so much that it really motivates me to go in when I might otherwise be tempted to take the day off. Warm ride in with temps in the low 50's. I spun and took my time today. DC weather should be in the 70's by this afternoon so that means no jacket. I'll also convert to shorts probably starting next week.

Everyone ride safe and have a great weekend.

This morning it was quite cold, with north winds of about 30km/h. Luckily I do south in the morning and north back from work. But I scared the living cr*p out of me. We had a beautifull day yesterday, it went upto about 10c, and so the streets were all soaked due to the melting snow. And I have one place where I go under a bridge, and thats where most melted snow accumulates. Well, biking to work this morning at -13c, I was in a reactive state, not pre-thinking my ride, and going about 30km/h with wind. I hit this bridge area, and it was just one long 100m stretch of iced road, I was so lucky that I was alone on the road, feeling how the bike was swurving side to side, but somehow I held it all together. Its my first month of commute, and its still quite wintery here in Winnipeg, and I have learnt alot, including three crashes. Otherwise all went well.

I'll take your word for that -- I've never had a bad day on the bike.
