I finally got back on the commuter this morning, after nursing a knee injury for the past couple of weeks. The knee feels great, and the ride felt great too. Springtime is here in the northeast: 60 degrees and sunny with a pretty stiff breeze. My new 700 X 25 Detonators are a big improvement over my Hutchinsons (700 X 23 Excels).

I was a little clumsy leaving the house because of all of the time off, but I will get my routine down again.

Cold rain (39F/4C) this morning. Is it just me or are drivers more polite in this kind of weather.

Back to sun in the a.m. ride in today. Warmer as well, with bug fluffy scenic clouds floating overhead. Some wind, but not too strong strangely less people out on what is easily the nice morning ride so far this week. Still saw a good 1/2 dozen other commuters, and I'm sure there would be plenty more if I actually left at a decent hour

I was out of lunch fixings at home, so I took a little lunch hour ride to get some take out. Good fun that was, really comfortable temps around 1pm, the wind seems to have kick up a bit more and I even saw another rider on the streets!

Temps in the low 40s (F) and rianing on the commute home. I found it quite refreshing!

The past two days have had high humidity and 80-84F/28-29C. Lots of sweat on the trip home and some fast times. Tonight it was 48F/9C with a cold breeze. Much slower trip, maybe I should have stopped & put my windbreaker on. Leaves are exploding in size now. I can't wait for the next rainy day to try out my new SealSkinz gloves.

I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I ride to work 20miles everyday, to tell yer the truth bike to work is not really in our culture so I'm having this hard time gaining some respect from other motorist...

for today it was wonderful day on the street and pavement (damn early 6.30am)

Yep. They seem to be better behaved in what passes for "winter" around here, although it never quite gets that cold. For all the talk about how much people supposedly like warmer climates, I'm yet to meet anyone who actually does.

Couldn't ask for a better ride in this morning. 70 degrees, low humidity, clear, and a slight tailwind too. I recently re-installed my panniers and am not sure how that's going to workout. The bike is akward handling and it may actually add time to my commute in terms of packing and unpacking. I think I'll go back to the backpack system next week even though my back gets hot and sweaty in the heat.

Wet ride this morning. My boss almost clipped me as she zipped past me while traffic was oncoming. I have a water resistant jacket, but find that by the time I'm to the office, I'm wet anyway. Luckily, I couln't find my backpack this morning so my clothes were dry in the plastic bag I carried with me.

SO, I have now added some new things to buy. Shoe covers, a better rain jacket, and some sort of water resistant pants.

Despite being cold and wet, I was still happier than I've been in the car listening to some crappy morning show on the radio! Looking forward to the ride home.

58F with light rain and no wind, it was refreshing. I came in early so I was off the streets before most on the rain stunned drivers made it onto the streets. Thanks to my Ortleib pannier and my rain shell both my clothes and I reached work dry.

27F/-2.5C for the trip in this morning. Light winds. This area has had record low temperatures for the past 2 days running. Warm enough to drop the fleece and thermal socks today.

magnuscaleb, I can't image what it must be like to commute in Kuala Lumpur. Good luck and welcome to BikeForums.

Well, it was in the upper 30's F again this morning but at least it was dry for my ride in this morning. The sun is trying very hard to peek out from the clouds, but we are going to be below normal in temps for the next number of days. It should be in the mid 40's for my lunch cruise and I'm hoping for 50's for my ride home. It's all still good though, I'm just ready for some warm weather.

Twice this week I've had words with motorists honking, revving their engines and yelling at me to not ride in the street. Not a good harbringer for Bike to Work Week.

Today's ride in was uneventful. I'm going to continue to take the lane when safety requires but I am making a conscious effort to be nonconfrontational and polite.

Well, today sure made me think about going car-less. I had an early Dr. appt. 20 miles the opposite direction of work, so I started to drive, but the brakes made a weird clunking noise with every tire revolution. They didn't do that the last time I drove, 2 weeks ago. So I wound up missing the appt., leaving the house 20 minutes later than usual and biked to work. I took the shortest route I know and rode hard the whole way. I got there with 5 minutes to spare, as usual I was the first one there. So now I'm going to get to spend enough for a new bike to keep the old melon going so I have a back up for really bad winter weather. Year-round 75-85F/24-29C, that would be perfect, especially if it only rained at night, and there was about 13 hrs of daylight, no cars that went more than 35mph, my legs never cramped, and the roads were perfectly paved. See, I'm very easy to please.

Stopped off by the police station last night to hand in a wallet that I found in my driveway (it didn't belong to anyone I know, nor do I have any idea how it got there). I probably could have reported a dozen or more drivers while I was there but I didn't bother. Sadly, I've come to expect ridiculous levels of stupidity on Fridays in Queensland.

Wonderful ride this morning: temps in the low 70's, low humidity, and clear. My work hours have been adjusted so I'm leaving about half an hour earlier as of today (I was on the trail at 5:45). I only saw 2-3 other riders and a handful of joggers. I'm interested to see how many people are out there at 3:00 when I leave. I went back to the backpack system and left the panniers at home. Now the bike feels lighter and more nimble-not as clumsy too. I made great time averaging about 19 mph and my ride only took about 25 minutes. I pressed the headset cups into my new Cross Check last night and will hopefully be on that bike by July-can't wait.

Very windy this morning. Wind from the SW, my route: SW. The ride home should be fun, provided the wind direction doesn't change! The legs were still sore from yesterdays 65 miles, so I just put it in a low gear, and spun my way to work.

What better way to start out a Monday?

34F/2C light breeze. Some fog hanging just over my head for part of the ride. Made for an interesting ride. Once past the fog bank, brilliant sun.

Sure was a nice morning today. High thin clouds texture the sky, very low wind and decent temperatures. It's been colder and wetter the last week or two so this was a welcome change. The aftereffects of all this moisture of late is that the air was quite humid, but otherwise ideal riding weather. I got a decent amount of riding in over the weekend and a severe lack of sleep last night so I was not exactly in peak form. Still made decent time and enjoyed just spinning in the nice weather.
