But for some trail construction that forced me through some mud it was a great commute. Looking forward to the warm weather this afternoon!

It is a great day to be out on the bike. This morning the temps were in the mid 40s and the slight wind was at my back. There were 8 others out on bikes this morning. Today is the season opener for our baseball team, it has been over ten years since I have been able to make it to opening day. My Dad and I will be leaving work a little early to get on down and catch the game. They are saying the weather will be fantastic, with temps in the 70s and plenty of sunshine.

Though the weather is just now reaching acceptable levels of precipitation and temperature, I fear that DST will hold back my morning commutes until I get a light rigged up to my bike. Argh, it's just one thing after another...

Wow, great day in St Louis. Spring has sprung. Time change didn't even bother me. Probably will reach 70's today. Great day for the NCAA finals! Go Illini!!!

A little darker than usual. Someone changed all my clocks.

Cooler than last week with no wind and sunny. No problems other than it should be a holiday so I can go riding later today -- around 1 pm.

Bikes: Two Road Bikes and one converted MTB for commuting

Ugh!! It rained on the way in which I did not expect; therefore, I got soaked. This put in a bad mood first thing in the morning. I really thought that it was just foggy; this time of year we get a lot of fog in So. California by the Coast.

My new Open Pros arrived last week (thank you Nashbar coupon!) and the commuter wasn't ready yet but I was dying to try them out. So I slapped on a cassette and some tires and put them on the racer. Man, what a nice set of wheels! Not light or fancy looking, just classic silver, rock solid quality.

And a gorgeous day for a ride. It poured last night so the air was cold and super clear. Stupid work! I need to be out riding, not sitting at a desk.

Man, what a great ride in this morning (except the fact that I'm back using my lights in the morning because of DST). Clear skys, upper 40's this morning and they say we might hit 70 today (average high is 50F)! I took the long way in, I'm going to explore on my lunch break and take the long way home after work. Spring has sprung!

First commute for a while today (have been out of country for a few weeks). I got about 5 miles into my 12 mile commute, and realized that I'd left all my travel expense receipts (my only reason for needing to go to the office today) at home. Bugger! Turned around, rode home, then rode to work again. At least I had time for the miles today....

Stinking head wind on the way to work this morning made for slow going, but of course gave me a fantastic push on the way home!

First commute since last........ October? I think. Anyway got in some new wind blocker tights (super Nashbar sale & discount) as well as some knee warmers. At 30F this morning and calm, it was just enough. 50ish this afternoon, nice. Marshmellow legs & sore bottom. Will probably go again tommorrow as it's going to be a high of 42F Wednesday & Thursday. No head light needed today just a rear flasher for country commuting.

Good ride in. Quiet and calm on the roads today, no wind and a tempature of about 44F. The ride home is looking nice with warmer temps.

What a difference since last weeks commute - Colder and darker!!! 32 Degrees out when I left at 6:30 this morning.
I decided with DST and riding into the rising sun, to get off the super smooth fast & easily graded 2 line highway busy highway and instead take some back roads that are extremely hilly and rough & bumpy (The highly trafficked highway follows a nice valley).

Although my cutoff was shorter, it was much harder with the hills, but well worth it- Once the sounds of the highway faded I could hear a woodpecker working a tree as well as streams rushing along the road. The best part is that I arrived alive, as I saw only one car over this 3 mile cutoff rather than being passed by 180 that are all driving into sun glare on the highway..

Have an awesome day!!!!

Beutiful day today, a light headwind, with temps in the 50's. Stopped and voted and received a few odd stares at my bike gear. Looking forward to a nice ride home.

Nice ride in, great weather, felt good! I failed to charge the battery for my light... 3 miles into my 13 mile commute it died... went the rest of the way with my backup 3LED. Good thing there isn't any traffic out here to worry about.

I'm hoping the Rain Gods will look down upon me today... They are calling for scattered showers which we could use to clean the roads... I just want it to be when I'm NOT biking!

just relentlessly sunny - very wonderful! as with madhouse, our roads and streets could use a good rinsing, which will come tomorrow (when i will be traveling to chicago).

this was my first winter as a bike commuter, and the coming of spring has never been sweeter! i know there will still be some foul weather in april, and even may, but the sense of having turned a corner is strong to the point of exhilaration.

Sunny but windy today. Last night there were a lot of ice floating on the St-Lawrence so I took the camera this morning but the ice was gone...

I began commuting last week and there's a guard dog chasing me at night. That dog used to be on leash or inside a fence... well he didn't chased me before anyway. I stopped by the shop this morning and told one of the employee. He was cooperative.

When I get a day off this week, I'll do some exploration. I need to find a better route around the freeways. Now I have to do a long detour and ride on a service road. I don't really enjoy that part.

i sorta miss my long commute.
it is only a few miles now and it used to be a solid 10 to work and 10 back and it was a good distance.
i want more exercise now. i am withdrawing.
i will just have to do more in the evenings and weekends.
so my commutes are easy now which is good, but the long commutes were good too.
i guess there is always a good side.

Gas was listed at $2.55 per gallon for the cheapest gas this morning; however, I still rarily see another bicycle commuter.

Cold ride in (for me anyway) but sunny; it should be warm tonight on the way home. It is supposed to be around 80 degrees today. I am noticing more bicycle racers out training in the morning and evening now that Spring is here.

Two great days in a row but wait today I sense the first hints of the pollen scourge. I think I'll try and get another ride in this evening.

It's a beautiful day today. I was actually joined by a dude for about 3/4 of a mile in Irvine, as he was coming from Corona del Mar. Good to see other commuters out there. I don't know why anyone would want to be caged on a day like today.

I've been riding to work here in Hawaii for 9 months, and yesterday I passed by somebody on a bike for the FIRST time. Boy the weather is much more pleasant if you leave home within an hour of sunrise. (either side )

A cool +12F this morning (was +1F earlier) with some crusty snow and ice on the
side of the road. All in all, a reasonably pleasant ride.

First commute of the year today & a new bike (Cannondale Comfort 400). 35F on the way in, 50F (with a headwind) on the way home. Found out that if you don't work out in the wintertime, you pay the price in the spring. Other than a little ice on the bike path though, it was a great ride.
