A nice brisk ride home. Calm, uneventful, peaceful. Only thing was that I found when I got back that my LED taillight was really dim. No big deal, swapped batteries, and it's good as new again.

What a beautiful morning! Clear skies, 30f, and no wind. The earlier daylight make crossing the river alot of fun, though I'm now forced to slow down and oo and ah about how nice the sunrise looks reflecting on the water.

The last 3 days have been good for commuting. There's a very light layer of snow on the trail in the morning, then it melts away in the afternoon. Very warm, strange weather for Vermont.
I ran into a guy I met back in December on a snowy evening ride home. We exchanged greetings and agreed that conditions are good. Nice to see some people are still keeping up with the winter commutes. His ride is less than half of mine though.
I saw tracks in the snow from last night, too. Someone lives near me and rides to and from Burlington every day it seems, but at odd hours of the day. Doesn't ride in a straight line. Makes me wonder...

I made it in without any major dramas. I did however start experiencing head games right around point where I got the flat last time. I starting thinking "Not again" I started bouncing on the tire to make sure it was still firm, it was. I guess I just had to get use to my rear wheel again. I starting using wifey's when my spoke broke
. Other than that, things were good...a bit slick on the bridges but manageable.Hey Buzzman, maybe we can work out some weekend rides when the weather is better.

Ride home last night was uneventful. This morning the cabs couldn't wait to pass me, honking at me from behind which is odd since the only vehicles allowed to be behind me are buses. I ride in the bus lane and from 7 am - 7 pm, no cars are allowed in the bus lane except to make right turns. Since they're not supposed to be in the lane, I ignored them, took the whole lane to myself and kept going. Sometimes, you gotta show 'em who's boss.

Good ride in this morning. The unseasonably warm winter has discouraged me from getting some clear lens glasses, but this morning's freezing temps, wind, and dust have given me new determination.

Had last week off for a trip to Washington state to see the family. No bike.
Commuted monday and had a nice trip.
Monday night was sick as a dog
Tuesday called in sick
This morning hit the streets again and had a decent ride. The main problem being exhausted from my stomach troubles from yesterday. Took it nice and slow.

Great ride in today. 56F, light wind at the start - that's fully 20 degrees warmer than when I started in Monday, and just about the same as my Monday ride home. Very strange winter indeed...
Rode the entire distance from my house - 15.04 miles according to my handy-dandy computer - for the first time. It was pretty darn awesome, except for dodging an ambulance and fire truck passing me in a construction zone. I rode a new route for the back half this morning that takes me most of the way on a residential street - 4 lanes divided, with access into a number of subdivisions along the way, but no major intersections. I discovered that at least some drivers in North Texas are very cyclist-friendly. I haven't done enough cycling around here to know from experience, but I've been told that's rare. I think I like that route.
Another beautiful sunrise as I pulled through the security gate. I'm lovin' this!

Big 20mph tailwind on the way home last night.. gotta love it when that happens. Needless to say it was a zippy ride home. Temp was 56F so I enjoyed my first Tshirt ride of the winter.
This morning was a chilly 22F, but that was offset by a huge glowing red sunrise. I believe that red in the monring is a sign of an impending storm. They are calling for snow this afternoon so there may be some truth to that.
Saw another commuter this morning at the start. We blazed down the big hill together, then he peeled right and i continued straight. Nice to see another crazy biker at 6am.

Yesterday's snow is disappearing fairly quickly, and I hope to be on skinny tires again by Monday, maybe even Friday. I feel like crap today. I'm fighting a cold and OD'd on Nyquil last night. I couldn't sleep at all - it was this horrible feeling that I was being dragged down, and my mind was fighting it. "No, no, stay awake" my brain says. My brain sucks. It should succumb to drugs like everyone else's.
Good, fast commute this morning. ~28F for temp, so not too bad. I leave too early too see a nice sunrise...I arrive at 6:30-6:40 and just start to see some faint light on the horizon...sunrise is at 7:15 or so.
Been commuting since Nov. sporadically...going to try for 100% commute for Feb!

South East in a town named richland and the area around it is called the Tri Cities. The town's claim to faim is the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.
I have a bad stomach and I still have no clue what caused this problem. All I ate before getting sick was ground turkey tacos. Maybe I undercooked it? Strangely enough, riding seemed to help calm my slightly upset stomach this morning.
Strong headwind this morning. Probably [insert diety of choice] giving me my just retribution for last nights antics.

Cold this morning but bright and sunny with no wind. It took about 10 minutes to get to the office.

The notable thing today was that I passed a bunch of commuting cyclists this morning, all travelling individually. It was nice to see so many of them out.
I saw one going up the modest hill on the way in, the first time in a while I've encountered one while on the hill. But she wasn't in a racing mood, so no friendly competition or anything. That's okay... she looked like she was enjoying her commute, which is all that really matters. And as for me, I think it's almost time to graduate to the next cog on that climb.

I second your small world comment. It's not like that part of WA state is very large.
I escaped in 2000 and moved to Denver. It was much easier to find a tech job without a degree in Denver.

Hit a pot hole (well, a sunken drain) hard and it stung my hands. I thought my front wheel would be badly damaged but not a thing wrong with it, no buckle - happy about that...standard Specialized Comp wheel - quite impressed. I pass the same spot every commute so I was annoyed that I "went in".

Fast ride home for a high (for me) avg. speed of 12+ mph for the whole day, despite some headwinds that blew while going up a slight grade. Not too shabby for a 40+ lb. mtb. Next milestone will be 13 mph avg for the day. Just need the traffic to cooperate.
