First ride in with the new Craft Thermal WS jacket. Fits like a glove, feeels great and really stops the wind. I'm bringing sexy back...

Nice ride in -- still very cool for late May. Saw the usual on the way in -- a few other riders and joggers, but did see a wood duck, which is pretty neat.

Nice, quick. Brisk but not windy so no windbreaker, just t-shirt.

Woke up late and nearly decided to drive in. Fortunately having my bike completely prepped the night before helped, and I rode in anyway. No regrets at all, it was a gorgeous morning, and traffic was light.

Still windy as hell. It's supposed to calm down starting this afternoon but it's getting annoying because otherwise the weather is perfect: sunny and cool. Should be quiet around here today since it's the start of a 3-day weekend and our clients take any opportunity to turn that into a 4-dayer.

Still in the 40's this morning, but the wind was light, and traffic not too bad. Perfect weather for commuting.
Second day in a row some crappy little escort like thing passes right next to me and blasts horn. I could here some kids inside laughing. Real nice.

Walked 2.5 miles to the bus this morning. Impending drinkage after work.
On my ride home yesterday, I was stopped on the "bike bridge" admiring the scenery and sipping some water, and two roadies went by in full spandex. I couldn't resist. Put the water bottle into the cage, and chased them. They weren't going all that fast so I caught them pretty quickly. 18 or 19MPH.
There's a "bike path" next to the residential street we were on, but it's not good for the velocities we were doing. A woman in a cage driving in the other direction yelled something at them, and I didn't hear what she said. The lead roadie turned around and gave her "the look".
I just shook my head and chuckled.

Stiff headwind the whole way in this morning - Added a good 20-25 minutes to my ride (in part because I missed the last bus and had to take the back route and carry the bike up 1/2 mile of steep dirt path). Now I'm sitting in my office watching low dark clouds race across the sky - no wonder that ride felt like work! Driving home this afternoon, alas, so I don't get the fun of a tailwind on the way home!

Great ride again today. Last night I had (another) pair of guys in a pickup try to tell me bikes aren't allowed to take the lane (or something like that--you know what I mean). I told them otherwise.
I'm on vacation all next week. Good luck and safe rides to everyone out there! Talk to you when I return.

Bikes: 80's peugeot. Somewhat knackered. Lovely new Salsa Casseroll singlespeed.
Great ride home last night. Left late, so traffic was light. I had had a crap day, so it was great to take out some aggro on the ride. Absolutely flew home. Most of the lights were green. I could have kept riding for another hour!
In other news, I have destroyed another bell. The pinger thing broke off (again). I'm going to have to get another one, this time of a more robust design...

Today was a "pip"... Jumped on the wrong trolley line, by the time I knew I had made a mistake I had missed my connection with the Coaster train. Jumped on a bus (alternate route) to Escondido where it was raining buckets with a 20-30 mph wind.

Hello there!
I haven't posted in a while but I have been reading the forum posts. I normally bike commute about 3 days a week (nothing out of the ordinary so this is why I haven't posted); this week was the first in quite a while where I commuted every single day. At the rate the price of gas is going I think bike commuting will be my preferred way of transportation barring a severe thunderstorm or snowstorm.
Keep pedaling.

Ride this morning was slow because I was tired after only getting about 5 hours of sleep. I ate like crap pretty much most of the day including my first soda and candy bar in a long time. I took about an hour nap and really rocked the way home. My normal average is about 13.5mph and I rode home at 15.65mph...

I was flying today, going and coming. Dunno what's up. I commute year-round so it's hard to think of myself as getting conditioned as spring progresses. I think there's just a difference when it's warmer and I'm not wearing much clothes (shorts & t-shirt).

We're in our 7th straight day of rain, and I'm almost getting used to it. The ride in isn't all that busy, but there are still *******s out there.

I am having a difficult time still convincing myself "if it isn't raining, it isn't training". On the plus side, the paths are empty so I can cruise along!
A Canada Goose family was coming off the river with one parent out front, one out back, and a gaggle of little yellow goslings across the bike path. I veered around behind, but tail end charlie was still miffed and chased me flapping and hissing. I rode off laughing - memorable!

First commute in over a week. Beautiful morning with very light winds and slightly cool. Passed 2 other bike commuters on my way out of the city. Then in a rural area, i saw my converted coworker about 500m ahead of me. I caught up abit just enough to get a great view as a big dog chased him. Luckily he tired the dog out because he didn't give chase as i rode by. The dog was big too, like a newfie or something.

The ride in was quicker than usual; direct route, good pace. I had to be in early.
The ride home was awesome. It was cold and rainy and sloppy and just plain fun. I saw a deer with little fuzzy antlers, but he didn't like the fact that I wanted to take his picture. He bounded off before I could get a good shot. I thought I had gotten a picture of his little deer butt, but all I got was a blur.

Tomorrow I am going on my first commute! My order from Nashbar came in this weekend and my bike is ready to go. They did however send the wrong size tires, but they are rectifying the situation. My current tires are actually not too bad. My rear tire has one spot on the sidewall that I'm going to keep an eye on. If I have to I'll use the "PowerBar wrapper trick".
I'll be doing 14 miles round trip. I've got my route to work all set, but I think I may experiment with my route home, because they way it is right now, half of my commute home would be on a very congested road with lots of construction traffic.
I'm so excited, can;t wait for tomorrow! I'm going to take some pics along my route and Post them tomorrow!
Thanks to everybody for all the help and encouragement!
