Glad you okay, and the bike didn't get messed up. However, as an experienced cold weather rider, IMO, you should have known not to boogie that fast in those temps, especially in curves. As a bike lover, I know how you felt when you hit the ground, wasn't worrying about yourself, but "oh my bike"... That is how we are..

Haven't been on my Bike since last Wednesday! Work issues, doctor appointments, high winds, rain, all excuses for why I haven't been riding and why I need to. My mileage for Feb is dismal! I want/need to ride 300-400 miles a month, and so far in Feb I have only ridden 156 miles!!! I feel like a fat slob. I swear that I'll be on the bike every day the rest of this week!

Took the long way in and it was a lot of fun. 3 More days and I will have went the entire month without driving to work. It has been years since I last did this and I must say, it feels great.

goddamn it was windy on my ride in this morning.

Sunny, chilly at first but then it got better. Although, I haven't recovered from my 35 mile ride the day before so I was struggling a bit over the bridge. I'm out of shape due to recent illness and I wasn't riding as much as I would for a while. It's basically my third week of regular commuting after more than two months. This was the longest ride since last summer. But I'm looking forward to the afternoon ride home, it's supposed to be over 50F and sunny.

The entire month without driving to work - that's great! I'm happy right now if I can ride 4 out of the 5 workdays. What the heck bike is that? A Trek Transport? Do you like using a cargo rig for commuting? I'm thinking of making the jump to a bike like that . . .

40s *F and cloudy, no rain/wind. Nice commute other than the fact that I forgot to start the Garmin again after I paused it at a red light... doh! Chance of showers for the commute home later this afternoon so I might get to sport the rain cape again .

I'll confess my sins. I've never been a frequent bike commuter but today was the first day I've biked to work this month. It was 25 degrees when I left my house. I had my first experience of a water bottle turning to icy slush. I felt super sluggish and it was probably my slowest commute ever but I'm glad I did it.

Cold weather, snowy commutes were some of the most satisfying ones. Although, I much prefer warm days Lucky, it only snowed once this Winter in NYC and I was home sick during that time

It was a stupid mistake! I knew better but got over confident lol I left the bike with studs at home and the Fargo handled so well I almost forgot about the conditions. I learned my lesson!

53F and sunny on the way home. It was about 15 minutes faster on the way home than usual. Monster tail wind. Sweet.

Looks like an Xtracycle add-on to me. I think I will be doing that mod sometime soon.

Day off today, went to the bike store to get some brake cables for the single speed. 13 mile round trip. Weather was excellent, 68*F and 9mph winds.

If the weather holds up I may ride to work this Saturday. It would be a nice ride to wake me up before work...and keep me wide awake for the ride home.

Crazy storm this afternoon during my commute home. According to the local news and online weather, it was about 25-35 mph wind with gusts up to 45 mph. There was also a dust storm. It was so crazy that I had to drop down to the lowest couple of cogs from my middle chainring. I could actually see trees almost horizontal while I was riding, which was really scary, actually. The Phoenix area is reasonably flat so I almost never do that. I have an 18 mile route, one way, so needless to say I was spend when I got home. Must...sleep...now

It is warmer than it felt at 41F (5C). Saw a new recumbent rider or trike, as I couldn't tell in the dark. Came out of a side road and traveled about a mile of the road I usually take ahead of me. A very bright tail light. Always like to see other riders in the dark.

Strongish headwind on the way in, long pants are back. Birds still chirping, I'm ready for spring.

The commuting gods were smiling at me yesterday. It started raining soon after I got to work in the morning, with showers all day until it was time to leave in the afternoon. Had plenty of wet roads and puddles on the afternoon commute, but no rain. This morning the forecast was for heavy fog, but I only encountered patchy fog in a few areas. The worst was a 1/2 mile stretch through a swamp that I pass through every day, and visibility was very poor but fortunately that didn't last very long.

Must have been worse on the east side. My central Phx commute the wind was around 4-5mph crosswind.

That wind was mostly behind me on my way in, but I'll probably have to fight it on the way home. Yeah, spring is coming! Can't wait.

I discovered in the morning that my bike had a flat front tire But that's better than during the ride!

Definitely a bit of a headwind this morning. I just wasn't feeling it today, so I took it easy on the ride in instead of fighting it too much. Still having to deal with the closure of the path around the Tidal Basin, where they've been doing some construction. Some days I've opted to go up Ohio Drive instead of dealing with it. Today I went around the Tidal Basin, but the closure forced cyclists and pedestrians into the road where there is no crosswalk, no sidewalk on the other side of the road, and only one-way in the wrong way traffic. There isn't heavy traffic there in the morning, so it wasn't a huge deal, but still a sign of lack of consideration for cyclists and pedestrians. Then again, it is the National Park Service in charge there, and their reputation among cyclists in DC is not that great, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Looking forward to a nice ride home in dry conditions before tomorrow's rain rolls in. Commutes tomorrow are going to be a little damp...

Warmish but wintry - just above freezing with pelting, windblown snow. Streets were wet - no ice. Steady headwind the whole way in.

Hey lobo, what are you calling me a liar? haha, just kidding. Yeah, I ride from Tempe through Mesa and into Gilbert. It got worse as I west further souteast...go figure!
