Nuclear reactions are not off-limits. In the summer those nuclear reactions can burn your skin!

I have seen smoking bicyclists, joggers, crosscountry skiers, etc. In my town, there seems to be a higher than usual number of smokers.
In Mendocino, I have seen many old timers smoking after freediving. I think this sport may be even more dependent on lung capacity than aerobic activities.

Talk about disappointed, I thought this would be discussion about "smoking" commuter cyclists as in: roadies that "smoke" (i.e. outrace) commuter-riders. Instead, discussion on other people's business. As long as they throw the butts in the trash (not lit) and not on the road, why worry?

If people insist on smoking, they should at least get on a bike and get some exercise. It cant undo the all damage, but it does help. Losing weight and cardio will improve health as well. If you're worried about "pollution" from burning leaves outside, you are nuts. Last I check links of heath effects to second hand smoke were very weak and that was for people who lived in a house with a heavy smoker. Someone smoking outside on their way to work is not hurting you or anyone else. There's carcinogens released in forest fires, volcanoes, and all kinds of other natural processes around us all the time.
Throughout history, mankind, as well as most other animals, tend to instinctively avoid forest fires, volcanoes, earthquakes, lightning, and other life-threatening hazards.
It has been well-documented that secondhand smoke contains carcinogens and causes a variety of ailments, including both heart-disease and lung cancer.
If we were smart, we would forbid anyone to smoke tobacco in the future.

However, if the Department of Homeland Security observes your avatar, I'm most certain that they will not only be concern with the amount of methane you possess, but they might also be concerned about other possible weapons and explosives in your possession.
You will not clear security, I can assure you!

Therefore, with poor taste, you are a very poor role model for all of your children.
I think that you are a Badmother!

All I know is that I only drive to airports, doctors appointments, and the grocery store.
That beats the heck out of what most car owners do. Most BF members IMHO, would prefer to drive to the grocery store, than cycle.
I'm not quite perfect yet, but I'm at least working on it. Just consider me as a work in progress...(Not A Piece of Work)...

I had a look around the intertubez, and that bike was made for a campaign to coincide with the introduction of a smoking ban in pubs and restaurants. They were handing out pouches so smokers can store their butts and dispose of them later, rather than litter the streets.
