Had a first

I've rode through swarms of bugs before, (gnats, butterflies, ladybugs), but today I was totaly surprised. I could see ahead that I'd make a three light run on a downhill before a climb , so stepped it up some. Splitting lanes to get around a freeway on-ramp, there was a wide open shot at an overpass. At about 35mph I saw what looked like someone had thrown a large shovel of gravel up over the railing. Closing my eyes, I took the hit and was pelted head to knees. Not bad, in fact there was a sweet taste in my mouth. Looking down, there were about five honey bees imbedded in my pants and shirt. Anyway, no stings. Much better than running through a flock of turkeys...

Wasn't that a band in the '80s?

That second guy from left is going to give Peyton Manning a run for his "Trophy Head" title...

One of my worst nightmares is riding through a swarm of bees. Almost happened last Summer but I barely avoided it.

I've been stung several times on my motorcycle by yellow jackets. Not on my bicycle yet but there's a huge difference in miles traveled, too.

Well, last night on the news there was a story on the large amount of bees swarming right now. I guess the hives split up and take as much honey as they can.
