Hyperglide cassette needs hyperglide chain?

Got a txt from a friend of mine, asking if a hyperglide cassette needs a hyperglide chain or if any old 8 speed chain will work....

Any advice?

Since all new cassettes are HG or HG-like, I think it would be hard to find an 8-speed chain that wasn't compatible.
