Congratulations on the new commuter bike Curtis! Looks good, plus you will like the disc brakes . . . my wife demands them on any new bike I buy for her (so far a Redline Conquest D and a LeMond PopRad).

Update (and looking for advice)
Bike is working out OK. The ride is plush, thanks I guess to the tires and carbon fork. I haven't fallen in love with the saddle, but I am micro adjusting still.
I am surprised to find that the gearing is a bit tall for me, even on my flatish commute, though I often have a howling headwind.
I'm thinking about the velo orange triple crankset
https://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...-crankset.html
The front shifter will handle it, and I have a long cage 6700 Ultegra derailleur hanging about if the 105 can't handlel it.
I just don't know enough to know if it will fit.
Any other suggestions fo ra similarly geared not-too-pricy triple?

How refreshing to hear that the Fantom has a plush ride!
.... SvtMike from the 41, would disagree with your assessment. According to him, the ride of the Outlaw is so stiff and unforgiving, that it rattles your teeth and causes a stinging sensation, throughout your arms.
It's so nice to have more opinions, from which we can gain a better, and perhaps, a more objective image of the Fantom Outlaw.
Thanks!
PS.
Your Outlaw is one of the most beautiful bikes I've ever seen!

I haven't been on other cross bikes, and I don't know what he's comparing it to, or the surface he's riding, so he may well be right.

With 30mm tires, how harsh can it be? This seems weird, but I think it's smoother than my Cannondale F500 mountain bike turned commuter. The F500 has a suspension shock, granted it's just a spring thing, nothing hogh-tech. But still...
