Does that new gear make me less visible?

I got through upgrading from a 7 to 8 speed cassette yesterday, and during the test ride startled 4 drivers in 2 minutes in that way we're all familiar with. Good thing I didn't go for even more gears!

Neon Lime jacket with wide reflective stripes.. is what I wear, to increase visibility.

Bikes: Yes

You're completely invisible as soon as you get on the bike, so I don't think you could be any less visible. The new gear must be quieter.

Good point. I'm just glad the were wondering how the 6' tall guy with the high viz vest and the bright blinking light on the handlebars got there with enough time for them to avoid me. I still got some adjusting to do, I just wish it was quieter now!

Sometimes it is just better to go with it and not worry about getting it, otherwise you might get got.
Dress for the show, but ride like your invisible.
And if you have more than one gear then use them all for all they're worth.

Maybe now that you're always in a perfect gear, you're not paying enough attention?

So if I'm following your logic here...I just switched back to single speed for the summer. So I'm totally safe, everyone will see me and they'll probably even give me my own lane? This is going to be sweet!

It's non sequitur, the cause and effect are unrelated. It was meant to be humorous.

Let me know if that works, and I'll gladly give up a few gears to get the same!

Good to hear this... would hate to see anything happen to that old beater you use to commute on... and we are rather fond of you too.

I used to enjoy that comic strip. It too was humorous.
