First post crash commute
It's just under two weeks since my crash. The stitches are out and the rib only hurts when I sneeze or when I lie down at night. Having done a few shorter rides without pain, I decided it was time to try the commute again.
Other than my knee hurting by the end of the commute (both ways), It went pretty well. I'm definitely more timid around gravel than I was and the county has been continuing their chip sealing on the rest of the roads I take. Not only that, the city seems to be picking up where they left off and chip sealing well into the city limits. I wish they'd run a street sweeper down the roads to remove all the excess loose gravel.
Given the knee pain, I'm not going to try the commute tomorrow, but I will try a longer ride on Saturday (with a little less in the way of aggressive climbs). We'll see what next week brings.

I had a 4-rib crash this spring. Took it very slow getting back. If it hurt, took a rest day. The rest days really helped and just increased my desire to get back riding to work.
