Ghost bike spotted in my neck of the woods

Had to do a double take as I was headed home last Friday. I was aware of the fatality just up the street from our maintenance yard but I hadn't heard about this one. Quite a few cyclists converge on this part of Campbell/San Jose in the morning (except for me), not to mention there are schools dotted all over. Too many driveways packed into a very small and congested shopping center for my comfort level. Just a really bad area for people to be driving reckless or speeding...and most do.
The attached links do not mention the third fatality on that weekend. An 18 year-old was killed while riding his bike across the San Tomas Expressway.

There's an ongoing issue here in NYC where the city either removes the bikes, or people steal them. I find nothing wrong with them, and I wish people would just leave them alone.
