About 8C/46F this morning, forecast of 29C/84F this afternoon. Being Edmonton, this could be the hottest day of the year. Lots of other cyclists out. Got passed by a guy on a mountain bike with knobby tires. I was on my road bike.

Back on the bike after about 10 days of traveling and weather related issues. 58 degrees and STILL this morning with light traffic, it was an EXCELLENT commute! Nice to get back on the Bacchetta after ignoring it for so long.

Wet . . . pretty much rain all the way in today. And then I had a flat tire; on the back, in the rain. Fortunately found a well placed street lamp under which I could work, so only lost about ten (soggy) minutes.

Cause was a nasty sharp piece of glass (yes, I cut my finger whilst fondling the inside of the tire, feeling for the cause) but the spare tube held, so now it's all good.

Does it seem like flat tires more often happen in the rain? Seems like that to me!

Wet, which is becoming my favorite type of commute. The bike trails are vacant of everyone except a few commuters and traffic on surface streets slows down just enough that I can ride more or less with the flow of traffic.

Sprinkly. Not real rain, but enough to keep the pollen and dust down, which makes the air so much nicer.

with my allergies its usually worse when it rains. high humidity signals trees to release extra goods because its conducive to transporting the pollen

some scumbag cut the chain of a ghost bike, and when they noticed that there were no pedals or chain or tires, left it 10 feet away

There was a dead woman found on the mount vernon trail today. I was riding north on the trail and i saw two cop cars blocking the trail, and two cops and one park police guy stopping traffic. I had to go through crystal city to get around. But a 83 woman dissappeared yesterday, and today her body was found in the potomac. pretty strange commute.

A nice misty ride in...passed my team meber from work and then the two of us ran into a third bike commuter pulling into the garage at our office building.

Finally commuted for the first time in 2013. Boy did I miss it. Except for a pot giving me a nice flat spot on my rim and a fly-by, it was trouble free.

Nice ride in, a cool 11C (52F) start (cool because I was wearing a short-sleeved jersey) with a few goose-bumps on my arms until I got out of the shade and into the warming sun. Not the most energetic ride in, I guess I'm still recovering from the 100km ride on Sunday. Forecast to be a sunny 27C (81F) ride home.

A little bit cooler this morning than yesterday. 55 degrees, bright sunny sky and no real wind made for a cool but good ride to work this morning. I seem to be a little "out of it" this morning for some unknown reason, so I had to be extra careful at intersections and with traffic. Feel kind of 'out of touch' today, not really in the moment...

A very nice ride in, a warm 15-16 celcius with a nice tailwind.
Yesterday I lost a battery pack for my headlight on my morning commute :-(
But, also yesterday, my younger daugther (12 y/o) did is first bike commute to school, she figured on is own that she could leave home later if she took her bike instead of walking the 2 kms to school. Dad was very proud!

48° still cold for spring - this is the coldest USA spring since 1975 btw, and it will probably beat that one by the end of May. And we seem to have a persistent little microclimate north of Atlanta where it's always 1°-2°C colder than anywhere else surrounding it. Rainy, thunderstorms possible on the way home, flooded out on the creek but I wanted to do some hills on the alternate route anyway, since it rained heavily all weekend shortening my training. Also rainfall is about double normal here this spring. I don't whine about the weather much but I'm literally getting sick of this.

On top of it, having the start of a sore throat along with weak legs I'm probably catching something the kid brought back from school. This was probably my one commute this year that I didn't really enjoy but felt like I really needed to do because I need some miles in before a charity ride on the 19th. Hopefully things improve in a few days and I can get back on track.

damn, this thread has too much death and destruction! Nice ride in today, 54F and most of the wetness has dissipated (though more rain forecast). On my way out the door I grabbed my keys. I got to work and discovered I'd grabbed my wife's keys, and of course I was the first one to the office... by about 30 mins. No worries, found security and they let me in. Only problem was my desk was locked with all my wipes and smell good stuff. Oh well, bird bath in the bathroom

My 18yo son saw me come back from my 102.5km ride (I have to include all of it because it is the longest I've ever done) and decided to take his bike out for a ride. He did 25km, nice work son!!

The morning ride was great. Going home was a bit wet, well actually i was soaked. But it was fun - nothing beats bike commuting.

Thanks. It wasn't "official" in that it was just a training ride. On May 25/26, I have to do 2 of these (Toronto to Barrie, then back again the next day) so I'm working up to it. Was too tired after my metric on Sunday to do much riding on Monday (day off) so I took the dog for a long walk, he loved it and got to play in the creek nearby to cool off. Biked in today though and will do a longer ride home to build up to another metric (or 2?) this coming weekend.

It was a nice day today, cool in the morning where I had to wear leg warmers and a jacket, but warm enough on the way home for just short sleeves and shorts. I did an extra lap of Prospect Park too to make it 25 miles for the day instead of the usual 20.
