Bikes: many

Kinda chilly here in Chicagoland. 42F, 6C. Not your usual June weather. Dry though, rode the Medici.

After swapping my crankset out for a standard road double I reset my commuter to pure road bike configuration. No rack, no fenders, slammed and flipped etc but I did leave the lights on it. No particular reason except for a change of pace, only figuratively since I'm no faster this way, but it's fun to have a different ride feel sometimes. Maybe swap out my platforms now for clipless ... Great ride in on my new 7.5 mile commute, wet which seems to be the new normal but not unpleasantly so.

Bikes: Giant Defy Advanced 0, Rivendell- Sam Hillborne, Montague folding bike.

Two flats in first two miles! As this used up all my tire repair resources, I rode back and drove in. Did fnd the culprit though, a razor thin, pointed, short piece of metal, went right through belts on the Conti Touring tire.

Nice day though, I'll work a ride in at lunch.

It was pleasant. I only had one surprise, a section of one of my cut through roads had been chewed-up in preparation of a re-paving.
That nearly shook me to tears but the rest of the ride was perfect upper 50s with very little wind.

Today's route:

that's an understatement! A little warmer here at 47F but I still had to stop and put on some gloves. Over the weekend I swapped saddles from my road bike to commuter since I my bits were getting unhappy with the existing seat - MUCH nicer, don't know why I waited so long to do that

65F, cloudy, and for the first time in a month, no head wind. Made record time in all respects.

Take the train, or bike share? I took the bike in a light rain, which turned out rather pleasant. I have an errand to run this evening, so I was thinking I'd take bike share anyway. It's nice to have a third transit option, in addition to my own bike, and the subway. I got wet, which just necessitated a change of clothes at work, but I don't have to worry about rain and muck on my bike!

Nice ride, I like that Belle Meade area. I used to live near Nolensville Pike just south of 440, not the best area but all I could afford back then. Looks like you work very near where I used to work, in the Nashville City Center building on 6th and Union.

Thanks, I avoided them for a while too but generally I really like them. This was the first fall-over in the two years I've been using them and hopefully the last for at least as long...

Cheers

6th and Union would only be a couple blocks away. I'm at 3rd and Commerce St, between Commerce and Broadway.
This is "Fan Fair" week, even if i didn't ride my bike everyday, I'd be willing to give it a shot this week. Getting into town early in the morning is easy.. leaving lower Broadway this afternoon.. and as the week progresses will get trickier. Glad to be on the bike.

It was a very nice though a little chilly at 48f ride in this morning, with some gusty (10-20mp) NW winds. Hopefully those winds will push me home tonight.

perfect wx, 54° with no wind to speak of.

I took a detour to avoid a street with the chewed up pavement (being prepared to repave), I'll be looking for a different detour tomorrow.
I didn't like the one I took today.

Same here... Unfortunately, I think the winds reverse in the afternoon for me

Great commute with nearly perfect riding weather. I drove yesterday due to thunderstorms and lots of errands to run in my car, so my legs were well rested and I made good time this morning.

Identical weather for the last two days. Tailwind to the station, averaging 27+ km/h. Headwind on the way back, working quite hard to get 22+ km/h. Still, 24.7 two-way average is pretty good for me in my street clothes on my mtb.

Still very windy this morning, cross wind, head wind. I should have a nice tailwind tonight.
Cold morning for this time of year at 8° celcius.
Still adapting to my new seat, it's getting better each day but still not what I was hoping for.

Looks like great weather for this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Low 80's with a light wind out of the east. We'll see how that affects my mostly north/south commute.

A little warmer this morning, 52F. I didn't leave work until after 7p last night so missed the day's warmup - not today!

We have a ride share program here too and it's a nice option on the days I have to drive. I can still run errands, adds lunch options. I use it sometimes when I bike commute on my lunch break just so I don't have to change or pull my bike out. It give me a lot more places to go.
I had a nice commute this morning but all this doom and gloom weather we've getting this "spring/summer" (plus cold) is getting a little old.

It was purty, thought still onlyl 45 degrees. I got my dose of Cascade Skyline with the sunrise behind it. I could see Mt. Jefferson and the tips of the 3 Sisters really well. That is at the end of a long climb, so I'm happy to pedal softly and easily for a while and take it all in. No cars in 9 miles, just the way I like it.
