Fun rides today. I had a bogey on my six for almost the entire way in, and he finally managed to overtake me at the 15 km mark. We both laughed - nothing like a little commuter race to start your day.

Today was my first time riding in the rain... and in hail
. T-Storms rolled in this afternoon. It started getting really windy, then light rain, then heavy rain down a big hill, then pea-sized hail up the other side of that valley. But I emerged at the top of that hill victorious feeling a little like Lt. Dan vs the sea storm in Forrest Gump.
I didn't realize how much water gets thrown up and in front of you (which you then ride through) from the upper half of the tire on a bike. I expected more of a splashing from the lower half of the tire.
And no, I have no intention of getting fenders. We don't get much of the wet stuff here...

Saturday commute which will morph into Saturday mini-tour. I have a couple hours of work to do and then heading out to the country to pick up my car. The shame is I had a pretty good headwind coming in (south) which I won't get to ride back home since from here I'm heading west and farther south. Oh well...

Steamy Monday ride in: High humidity, 74F/23C. Had the Ortlieb filled to the max with provisions for the week at work. No wonder my rear tire is almost totally without a rounded shape, its just squared off!

It was a nice ride in this morning. I didn't bust my asprin in my new clipless shoes and pedals so I guess thats a good start. I also made my best time ever this morning.

a nice ride in today with partly cloudy skies and the temp at 58f. I have not been able to ride in since last Thursday due to weather forecasts. They are predicting chance of rain this afternoon. I am willing to take my chances on the way home.

Cool 9°celcius, cloudy morning. Car drivers were buzzing very close this morning, I have one close pass once in a while like anybody else but this morning only I've been pass very close, within a feet, 6 times.

Rainy but like I told a couple of people who asked today, it doesn't really matter on a warm morning like this with lockers and a shower at work. Unless you try to keep dry which is frustrating, but I'm happy to just let it go and get wet.

The weather was really nice for this time of year, but the most amazing thing is the second bike commuter I saw today! I've seen other bike commuters on my last 2 rides, and have only seen a handful in the 5 - 6 years I've been bike commuting. I like this trend!

A little cool, 65F but still beautiful. Mr. Headwind is back as are the summer only riders who as a group (and I'm not generalizing) seem to be riding high tech road bikes and going very fast. I know that because they pass me... every day... it's a little demoralizing

Don't be too hard on yourself.
