Didn't want to unleash this on you but I may be a bit stressed: wife has concussion and may be off work for 2-3 weeks and mum is dying of pancreatic cancer, maybe only days left!
Yes, I'm making a bit of a joke of both but both are true. Saw my mum in Toronto (4hr drive away) this past weekend, said our goodbyes or actually, au revoir (which is French for see you again) because we are both Christians and believe that we will meet again in Heaven but for now, it is goodbye.
Wife was playing with the dog and got her head in the way of the bounding dog resulting in a mild concussion - headaches for the last week.

Thank you, and I wish the same for your father. The hospice is taking very good care of her and each time I see her or talk to her on the phone, she praises the staff at the hospice.

Had the bike on the car, headed to work so I could ride it home this afternoon. First time driving the car (other than last night) since I pulled the cylinder head on 4 July to replace the head gasket. Turned into a massive ordeal. Anyway got about 2 miles from home and the car started overheating. Turned around and had to get wife to take me to work. So no bike commute today.
Hoping the car overheating is just air in the cooling system. I'm pretty sure it is.

Rode today... took the short way home so I could mow the yard. I came home got off the bike and started mowing right away. I am feeling a little spent in the legs but I am participating in a challenge at work and trying to catch this co worker on mileage. I am not sure if I should give myself a rest day tomorrow or keep riding. I did not ride this weekend 2 days rest but I rode Tues-Friday last week and Monday- Tuesday of this week so far. I was hoping to ride every day but Friday (supposed to really rain plus need to take some stuff from locker home)

It was a warm and humid ride in this am, but no complaints from me because at least I got to ride. My rt knee has been bothering me lately, causing me not to want to ride. I have never really not wanted to ride but Monday morning that was the case for me so today is a much better day.

It was a little foggy and kind of cool so that made for a nice ride. The only problem was I had two nice size boxes in my backpack so it put lots of pressure on my back. The cows were out and so was the wildlife, red tailed hawk, and other birds. My GPS after a call to Garmin seems to be working again. Can't wait to ride this afternoon.

Humidity lower today so I picked up the pace and had my fastest commute in a while. It's supposed to cool off with even lower humidity on Thurs-Saturday, which will be a welcome relief from the hot muggy weather we've had lately.

Cool morning, 8C (46F) and a bit windy but most of the time, the wind was not a headwind. It also was nice and clear so the morning sun was nice to see, it gave me lots of light to pull the nail out of my rear tire and replace the tube (darnit!!), 2nd flat in 3 rides of this route. I'm beginning to be less than impressed with my Schwalbe Land Cruiser rear tire, should have bought a Marathon like my front tire, despite the fact that my front tire was the last reflective one in stock at the time.
Last night's ride home was a bit of a challenge with gusty winds coming from every direction, I didn't get a consistent tailwind in any direction.

Woah, 58F this morning - 20 degrees cooler than yesterday! Though it's beautiful riding weather, I really don't like the extreme temp swings... as if I can do anything about it

Cool and wet which could describe most mornings in this odd summer. We haven't really had any hot days this year but almost double the usual rainfall. Oddly I haven't had as many drenchings in the morning this year, maybe one or two but it seems like some puddles and mud spots are now permanent, never drying up. This following one of the coldest springs on record makes me wonder what the fall has in store.

Near perfect commute this morning in terms of weather IMO. 59° and overcast. Only rough part was the wind always seemed to be blowing against me. I've been on vacation for the past week and a half though, so it was tough to come back to reality. At least I got to bike on my first day back.

Ok. It was 63F and after taking the dogs out for their business, decided to put my long sleeve t-shirt on. I had my undershirt, the long sleeve t-shirt, and t-shirt over that. I was still cold. These weather changes suck! When it goes from low 70's and high humidity to low 60's and low humidity, my body can't take it. I still wore shorts though.
Supposed to be mid 50's tonight, I'll probably end up wearing the same thing tomorrow and still be cold. I'm already thinking about looking at winter wear.

64F 54% Humidity, Sunshine and a few clouds. Winds 5-13 mph. Great riding weather, but a little chilly at first. Nice getting to work and not having a great deal of sweat on my back and under the helmet. Some idiot making a left turn out of a parking lot almost ran me over as I rode on the secured bike lane.

Years ago I commuted by bike pretty religiously, but about three years ago I got out of the habit when it seemed life got in the way. New job, new house, got a dog, all within 6 months or so. Three years later I went from 5'11'', 160lbs to 182 lbs. Over the last few weeks I figured out a new route, found a cheap gym for the shower, and got back on the bike. In just a week I went from 182lbs to 176 when I checked this morning.
So basically, the commute was great this morning. It feels good to finally get my s**t together and get back out there.

it was a degree cooler here this morning. It actually felt pretty good to ride in this morning consider i rode home and went straight to push mowing my yard. 2.2 miles later I finished.
Good to be a on the bike this morning.

Lots of bikelists on my route today, and less car traffic than usual. I think the gong show that was this Monday's rush hour (combined with our perfect summer weather) may have encouraged more people to adopt more sensible modes of transportation this week.

I can't ever remember a summer in North Carolina when it was 66 degrees in the morning. I am enjoying it though. I still love commuting by bike to work and hope I still love it this time next year. I am getting in really good shape and that is motivation enough. Happy Commuting!

I hate headwinds
