Waterproof flat pedal sneakers

So...it's finally time to ditch the cold-weather boots in SE Minnesota and I was thinking about a dual-purpose flat pedal sneaker this spring/summer/fall. So far, all I've found is this, but am open to more options from experienced commuters.

Sandels. Especially the trekking kind. Mine have holes in the bottom so the water runs on and through. On a hot summer ride bare feet don't care if they are wet.

For me there's only one sneaker I would and do wear for cycling... Adidas Stan Smiths. They're not 100% waterproof, but they do keep my feet nice and comfty all year long and even with high summer temps, they seem to breathe better than anything else out there.

I wear these, I got them for $25 on a clearance. Works great on my rain bike.

My number two option are mesh running shoes. Totally NOT waterproof but they dry out fast and that beats having wet sneakers for days. Never been able to find waterproof shoes.

White sneaker for biking? And when it rains?

My summer problem is hot feet rather than wet feet, so I also vote for sandals. Keen (closed) and Shimano (open) both make them. You get very bizarre tan lines.

Those Teva shoes look nice, but perhaps a bit overengineered for regular commuting. And if they are waterproof, won't they be rather hot?

If quick-dry is the name of the game, these look funky but functional:

I agree that waterproof equals no breath-ability. Maybe something like the above-linked would be better.

I like Keen low hiking boots, waterproof, very stiff sole, works for me. But not really a sneaker. Try chrome or six-ten.

I have both white and black versions. Black is probably a bit nicer when it rains!
Obviously these can't compare to sandals on how they dissipate moisture, but that's something I can live with since the soles on these don't flex as much as other sneakers but absorb shocks really nicely.

Can use as sneakers and are also SPD compatible. I have a different model of DZRs and the sole is stiff, but really not bad at all to walk around in.

Bikes: recumbent & upright

Consider a pair of Chrome Turbuk shoes,
work well with flat pedals,
comfortable walking around,
not really waterproof - but do shed water.

Wow, the shoes here are amazing. I had no idea things are so advanced.

Don't sneer at sandals, though. I find them really nice for cycling. While they may be a little cold in the rain, I get warm more quickly after the rain since my feet dry faster than they would if I had full shoes that are wet. I also recommend wool socks, because wool stays warm when wet. A lot of synthetic socks offer that last advantage, too. Cotton socks are the very worst.

$169 sneakers? Youch! I don't like sneakers for riding, the soles aren't stiff enough (for me). I've been wearing these Pearl Izumi cycling shoes for a couple years. They're vented so not waterproof, but when it's hot I don't care. Since they're cycling shoes they have a stiff sole insert

I have these shoes. They are NOT stiff. As far as I can tell, they are running shoes with an SPD cleat. Stiff shoes make my feet hurt on the bike. I'm not riding in races, so making that sacrifice is not worth it.

The uppers are very thin mesh, allowing water in. It also allows quick evaporation, even while wearing.

I used Crocs Crosstrails on a tour to Washington DC during Hurricane Irene and they worked well. No more soaked shoes. They dried shortly after the rain stopped.
