center holed selle anatomica Im told, design has a extra function , the sides act independently, with each leg .
not sure if Brooks Imperial 17 has that function, you have to judge by riding ..

The best prices and selection on Brooks saddles is from British on-line dealers, many of which also offer free shipping. Examples, Wiggle, SJS Cycles, etc.

I've bought a Carradice bag, a B17 and a B17 Champion Flyer (sprung B17) from wallbike.com. While they may not be the least expensive, the easy return policy, the quickest shipping (within a day of ordering for me), the communication from them (emails about orders, and then a typed note signed in the box for each order specific to the order), and the packaging (first rate, like unwrapping Apple products) is worth the pricing (retail).

I've also had several questions answered via email from them. Not as fast as an order turn around, but definitely got qualified answers to my questions on which Brooks.

I don't work for them, I don't get a discount for typing this. Just a happy customer, that will be supporting them again soon with a B67 purchase, when it's in stock again.

I bought mine from wallbike, too. I usually try to save every dollar I can, but I also don't mind spending a dollar or two more on a reputable place that takes care of its customers.

I use the standard B17 on all my bikes, once they are broken in they are as comfortable as a nice pair of leather shoes/boots that conform to your feet (butt).

I find my best deals on e-bay, I recently purchased a new Brooks B-17 for $80.00 with free shipping.
I don't remember the name but they do show up once in a while. (I didn't receive the box but the saddle did come on the mounted fiberboard with the wrench, inside a shipping envelope that made me think something could be fishy but the saddle was new and not flawed).

Very, very small adjustments can make a big difference, once it's dialed in, it's great. I highly recommend a seatpost with infinite adjustment for the angle (typically two bolts), avoid a seatpost with notched positions for the angle (typically one bolt).
I remember seeing your recommendation for infinite adjustable seatpost and I need to replace mine so figured I'd get one of these. Any recommendations? And bought a b17 from ebay - looking forward to trying it.

To be honest, mine's one I've had for, uhh.. well over ten years now, I think it was a Trans-X or some cheap brand, works just fine.

If I had to buy one now, I'd probably get a Race Face Ride XC, they're $30, or there's always the Thomson Elite for about 100.

Winner, thanks! I couldn't find a cheapo dual bolt in 27.2 but race face has it (more than $30 but less than $100!).

Not to hijack, but has anyone here ever compared the B17 to any of the Gilles Berthoud saddles? I'm specifically interested in the Mente for price reasons, but concerned that it might be too wide. I'm mostly comfortable with the (Selle An-Atomica modified) Brooks Flyer on my Raleigh Sports, but not totally sold on the Selle An-Atomica Titanico I've been using on the Univega.

Velo Orange offers one with greater than average set back, if you're into that sort of thing.

Ideale - definitely out of business

No connection to any retailers mentioned, examples only. There are plenty of places to get any of these.

(I suspect the Torelli, Dia Compe, Spa, Papillionaire and Rivet saddles are also manufactured to specification by Gyes.)

PS - Please don't name your child Selle Anatomica.

brilliant suggestion - I had to cut a few inches off but I love the two-bolt design, can really dial in the adjustment. Now if I can just stop screwing around with it

I Traded away my B17 because the seatpost was zero setback, and the saddle could not be shoved back far enough .

+ frame angle of seat tube is a bit steep.. so 'that thing' is called bike fit.
