Back At It
I asked my son if this photo makes me look fat. He said no, my belly makes me look fat.
Every year at this time I deliver bell ringers to their stores. The home base is just under 6 miles from my house and I bike commute as much as possible. This winter didn't ease in it seems, because one day this week I rode my bike in 50 degree weather and the next morning it was 20. I drove the 1/2 mile to the gym and was planning to drive to work. My car thermometer said it was now 21, and it was sunny with no wind. Naturally I drove home, put on another layer, (or two) and rode over the river to work.
Before retiring 4 years ago, I never would have had a second thought about riding the 10 miles to the office with weather like that. I figured I was just a little rusty in the bike commuting thing. I will be in Hawaii for a week and I'm thinking the transition from 50 degrees to 20 will pale in the weather transition I will face on my return to bike commuting in December. I'm {{{{shivering**** just thinking about it but I'm going to use this forum as motivation to keep riding suntanned and all. Weather be damned.

Very cool. You need some gloves, though.
