Much better ride home, much faster with a nice tailwind! 15.0 MPH average as compared to the usual 12-13 average.

chilly 44F and wet from yesterday's rain, it's wet leaf season. Today is likely my only day to ride, out of town Monday and Tuesday, leaving again tomorrow. I hate when work gets in the way of riding

Chilly ... 46 downtown, 42 here near the office. Got to see a bit of the eclipse as well as the sunrise.
Crossed the 1,600 mile mark today. Still trying to reach 2,000. If I commute every possible day my schedule allows this month, I'll need ONE commute in November to hit it.
Co-worker saw me leaving the gym after my shower this morning ... she says, "You're still riding your bike? Aren't you cold?"
I said if you ride hard enough you warm up plenty

Pouring rain this morning.
When I got to work 2 different coworker told me: you MUST be wet!!! What do you answer to that? Yeah man, I AM wet, but don't worry I'll be dry in 5 minutes...
After 4 years of seeing me riding my bike every day they noticed that I get wet when it rain. I asked one of them if he ever saw the movie 'X-MEN'? I'm a mutant: I don't melt in the rain.

Nice tailwind ride on the way home Monday made for a faster than normal time.
Took off work Tuesday while my oldest child became a teenager.
Missed this morning's lunar eclipse due to cloudiness, although I did see the beginnings of it at 5:30am.
Good ride in though. I saw two rainbows, or perhaps the opposite ends of the same rainbow at different times.
I took a pic of one of them.

great ride this morning
The commute was a mixed bag today. I came in on my new (to me) motorcycle, and that was a blast - I'm having fun riding a motorcycle after a gap of 11 years. However, the reason I rode the motorcycle is because the bicycle brake is jammed after a fall from its parking spot in the living room and the mechanics forum suggested that this may be because the brake arm is twisted. Not sure I'll be able to fix this at home, and if I have to take it to the shop - well, then no bicycle commutes for the rest of the week

I had a nice ride this morning. My son decided he wanted mom to drive him instead, which I found annoying since I was looking forward to the longer ride with him.
Had some guy I passed get his panties in a knot and tried to reclaim the lead. Only due to me having to come to a full stop at the bottom of a hill while a long bed crew cab negotiated a 180° turn in the traffic circle. He passed me on the hill and I then proceeded to drop him like taking candy from a baby. About 10 blocks later he was about 3+ blocks behind. Ohh silly commuter racing.
It was a nice ride otherwise the weather was nice. I unfortunately did not see the eclipse, I usually wake at 4 which was apparently the the peak, but I did not wake up this morning.

Wet roads from overnight rain, but no rain during the ride.
Cat6'd a guy this morning; he seemed fast while I was chasing him, but he faded pretty quickly after I passed him. Hooray for me.
In the middle of a sinus and chest cold, and without going into too much detail, I inadvertently hocked a loogie onto my handlebars. (In my best Garth Algar voice): Eeeeeeewwwwwww.
Pretty dicey downtown negotiating with traffic and construction barriers; got pretty peeved at a bus driver, but I couldn't tell if he was intentionally trying to intimidate me or not. I'm inclined to think that he didn't realize how fast I was capable of going when he tried to get around me.

Felt great - 3 more PRs today (on top of the 9 yesterday); turns out after losing enough of the belly to ride comfortably in my drops, I'm getting a noticeable increase in power / decrease in wind resistance. The effect was particularly noticeable in the strong headwinds I had this afternoon along the river

I hope that my new obnoxious tights caught your attention.
Thanks for noticing. It was a slow feeling ride over the bridge. Like @HydroG33r said about the belly changing performance. This month mine has gone the wrong way and my pace has shown it.
It was a nice ride home otherwise. I got a compliment from a lady along Slocan about me being a great biker. I think that she was surprised by my speed and use of lane positioning and manoeuvring to legally take advantage of traffic flow. She had credibility with her Orbea (I think) on her trunk.
I am taking tomorrow to go to my wife Ph.D. convocation.

The ride to work was very nice a full moon out with almost clear skies. The temp was 45f degrees when I left the house. I had my first encounter with some person who thought I should not be on the road with my bike and let me know by screaming it out his window. The very worst part of it is that I screamed back. I am so disappointed in myself. I hope if it ever happens again that I do not have the same knee jerk reaction.

Yesterday, I commuted to our staff meeting, 12km each way. About 30 minutes before I had to leave, my wife asked, "is that rain?" and yes, it was pouring but about 10 minutes later, it had stopped. The radio announcer said it was 7C/45F so I took him at his word and dressed for it and it was pretty well right on. It is a shorter distance than I normally take in the morning and I had given myself extra time so I told myself to just take it easy and not overheat myself, I wasn't going to have a shower available to me when I get there. However, I didn't listen to myself, pushed hard and was dripping when I got there. To add insult to injury, the manager of the golf course where we were having the staff meeting asked me if I would like to go to the member's changeroom and use the showers there; I couldn't, I didn't bring a towel.
Today's commute was in 2C/36F temps but the roads were dry. I dressed properly for it and arrived without too much sweating and just slightly cold toes (a headwind in the last section of the route cooled me down). Tonight is forecast for -1C/30F, I think I just need to add either booties or toe covers to accommodate the slightly colder temperatures.

Perfect this morning. The weather, the forest, traffic, smooth ride, everything.
Yesterday I drove, mainly I wanted to experience driving my new car to work, and also so that some family friends don't take it for granted that it's always available when I'm not home ... my saving gas and the environment by riding, but friends taking advantage of my car for free taxi service, every day, there's something inherently wrong about that. So I figure it's better that it's randomly not available. Anyway although the drive was pleasant for once, the riding is better.

First commute in nearly two weeks due to being on vacation and then catching a cold. I hated to miss riding the past three days because we have had PERFECT weather -- mild temps, low humidity, clear skies. I did a lot of riding while on vacation, 500+ miles riding from the mountains to the coast on Cycle NC. Then I caught a cold near the end of the ride and have been suffering from that the past few days. Felt much better today, and the riding should do me good.

For the last 3-4 weeks I completely droped any food with added sugar and replaced it with fruits, a lot of fruits, so I don't fell hungry.
The weight loss is great, maybe too quick according to my own personal nurse (my wife). But the biggest difference by far is my energy level, I feel great and the legs have never been better. my commuting times are dropping incredibly: usually a ride to work without Wind used to take me about 62-63 minutes, last night for example I came back home with a 20-30 kmh headwind in 65 minutes and a few tics!!! I also sleep better. I'm beginning to think sugar is poison...
Can all this be put on the fact that I dropped sugar? Is there some kind of a placebo effect making me feel better that I really am?
Anyway this morning the sun was out, the temp. was cold at 6° celcius and, this morning, last night headwind became a big tailwind that brought me to work in 53 min. without breaking a sweat.

On the way home yesterday I saw a roadie out for a spin just ahead of me. I caught the roadie, passed the roadie, pulled the roadie, and dropped the roadie (although he may have turned off, but that's not the story I like).
Cool, but comfortable ride in this morning. Beautiful afternoon in store.
