About 48 this morning and just a light headwind. Amazing 73 degrees with a 22 MPH tailwind this afternoon, so that made for an amazing ride! Not my fastest ride ever or second fastest, but pretty close.

Unfortunately Thursday it's going to be cold again. Dangit.

Gorgeous day! Was 65° when I left for class this afternoon. Saw a guy on a city bike attempt to stop it by peddling backwards! Fortunately he found the brakes before he crashed into the high curb. Had a nice chat with a fellow commuter on my way back home this evening.

50F / 10C and then tomorrow we drop 30 degrees F!!!! Enjoying this moment while I can.

Had to replace my rear tube yesterday and as usual, I made a total mess of my hands and still have oil sploches all over my fingers. (I just hide my hands during meetings.)

Cold today, -18C/0F with a -30C/-22F windchill. After yesterday's high of 0C/32F during which there was some melting (if only because the salt had its chance to do its work), today, the sidewalks and paths had long stretches of frozen puddles along which I hopped off the bike and walked (no studs). This afternoon won't be much milder than this morning and tomorrow morning will be a lower air temperature but less forecasted wind so the wind chill won't be so severe. At least I'm back on the bike again, for at least part of the ride.

My ride home yesterday was pretty great too. 70f and as I left the airport there was a flock (murder? gaggle?) of wild turkeys in the pines by the road; one tom and at least a dozen hens.

I'd have guessed "a classroom of turkeys" or "a Walmart of turkeys" but apparently, it is a gang or rafter(huh?, I wouldn't want a collection of turkeys in my rafters!).

Lovely ride home last night. Almost too warm for pants.

I drove in today because they're calling for thunderstorms and wind gusts of 50mph+ this evening. I hope it happens because I hate missing a day for no reason.

Yeah I'm glad today was a no-ride day. 30+ MPH winds today, and temps dropping all day.

4degC (39degF) dead flat calm this AM. Sunrise into clear skies. Uneventful ride, my mind was off--I don't even remember most of the ride.

Saw another guy with revolights. They look cool but I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to drop the coin required.

Just realized I didn't bring any clothes for tomorrow, and don't want to do the backpack thing. Plus freezing temps in the morning. Yep, definitely not going to ride.

Yep. 24F / -4C and a 27 mile per hour headwind. I've had it with this winter.

I seldom say this, but my commute today was the pits. As was the case, it appears with several others, temp dropped a good deal - from 60 degrees yesterday to 16 degrees this morning with a wind chill factor of 7 degrees. Even the dog didn't want to go out this morning. He looked up at me as if to say, "Are you out of your freaking mind? I'm not going out there." I didn't mind the cold all that much, but combined with the wind, which was flat out horrible and riding in the dark again, I was not a happy rider. Hope the forecast is correct that the wind will die down by early afternoon.

My commute home yesterday was about 67F and windy, some tail, some cross, some swirls. There was a downed tree blocking half of the road. But if that wasn't enough fun, the last 3 miles were punctuated with a nice little rain storm. Luckily I didn't hear thunder until I pulled into my driveway. I was soaked, but ok.

This morning's commute was much less windy and much less warm: 34F and clear skies. Two deer watched me from a field as I pedaled by.

Cold -26C/-15F with a wind chill of -32C/-26F. Forecast for tomorrow is 5cm/2in of snow and a high of +1C/34F, won't ride, it'll be too sloppy.

I wish I had ridden yesterday; the forecast storms never came, and it didn't get really windy until 8 or 9 PM. >

I drove in today because riding with 50mph gusts in 18F just isn't fun.

Tuesday morning was mid 40's, today was 15F - argh! I didn't ride yesterday because of snow and high winds. I'm done riding in the snow

The wind couldn't make up it's mind this morning. It was about 59% headwind, 40% cross-wind and 1% tailwind - all while facing the same direction.

Just bloody pick one!

Didn't ride today but wish I would have. Beautiful outside right now. But I just didn't want to deal with below-freezing temps in the dark this morning, and of course not having clothes at work.

Can't wait for my new rack and trunk bag to get here next week!

Today, the summer bike came out of hiding. So fast. So smooth. I've been missing it.

Looking forward to another year of great riding.

Winter returned with a vengeance today, with a 30+ drop in temps and cold wind screaming out of the NW. Ironically, I was actually warmer commuting to work today than the past few mornings because I was was dressed much warmer. The previous few commutes I had to wear much lighter clothes so I wouldn't burn up during the afternoon commutes with temps in the 70s. The ride home will be a challenge, with headwinds much of the way.

I noticed the same thing on my home bound commute, flags at the base of the Washington Monument were waving in three different directions.

Much better today 30F / -2C and almost no wind to speak of.

Nice, uneventful ride home yesterday. Cold ride in this morning: 28F.

Assuming I ride home today, this will be my first full week of riding since starting the new commute. 122 miles when I can pull that off.

Nice ride in this morning. I was a bit underdressed for the 28F; my fingers and toes are a bit cold.

Should be a very nice ride home tonight. Temps supposed to reach the mid 50s.

Winter isn't over yet though - they're calling for some snow Sunday night.

34F with 10mph headwind - I'll take it! Kinda funny seeing our weather moving eastward towards you folks on the coast. The good news is that winter blast is a quick one with nice weather behind it! Great weekend everyone
