Bikes: Old steel GT's, for touring and commuting

Therefore, I was thinking about going with 26x2.15 (or possibly 2.35?) for the widest tire I can cram on this thing.
I don't know the width of the PB ATB fenders, but I've got the SKS P65's (65mm) over my 2.15" Big Bens and couldn't see going any bigger. Not only do I have minimal clearance, but I'm actually struggling with it rubbing at times. If moving it away doesn't help, I think I'm going to have to retrofit it with a stiffer stay from somewhere other than SKS.

I've gotten 2" slicks and 1.95" studded knobbies under my PB ATB's. 2.35" def too wide.

I ride on Panaracer Tserv 26x1.75 with ~50 in the front and ~55 in the back. They are light, give a pretty cushy ride, are flat resistant, and roll well.
